Color, how important is it to you?

Let's quantify it. Would you travel xxxx miles and/or pay additional xxxx amount to get your first choice color of choice.

My situation:
I want a red but I have to pay MSRP and travel 153 miles compared to my second choice of WRB that is local and will give $750 discount.

Neziah 10-11-2012 05:27 PM

I drove about 600 miles round trip to get the color I wanted.

RRnold 10-11-2012 05:30 PM

If it's a color I specifically want, I would. WRB is a sick color that I'm sure will eventually grow on you.

I would make the road trip just think about the ride back home as the pay off lol

yeah i did actually! i had waited 4 years and some odd months, all the colors look good to me, i was just ready to have the car! Took delivery in MAY :D

so far the only problem ive had with min after 14k+ miles is the window makes noise every once in a while when i roll it up and down, but no idle issues or CEL, my vin was number 1200 something and i got it early lol...

plus it takes a LOT before argento starts to look dirty, only problem is, little bumps or dents show up REALLY easily at night under street lights, but color looks good at night aswell, i personally think it looks better at night than during the day!

It is significant. My dealer had a previous buyer back out of an ordered car. They offered it to me; only difference between this car and the one I ordered is color - WRB v. CBS.

I declined. And I like WRB. But I'm willing to wait (what will probably be three months or more) for CBS.

I drove 2,100 miles (technically only needed to drive 1,600) to get the exact color and package option I wanted.

:thanks: you made me spilled coke on my tablet..

spomi 10-11-2012 05:54 PM

Now that i cleaned the coke off...

If the car is more than a tool for transportaion and you plan to keep it for a long time, don't settle for a color you would regret!

Turbowned 10-11-2012 06:02 PM

It's your second choice; is LR worth the extra $750? That's what you have to ask yourself. If I could get WRB, LR, DGM, or CBS for less than a GBS (my top pick) I would seriously consider it. If it were my last color choice (in my case, SWP or SSM), I probably would pay the extra money to get what I wanted.

BioRage 10-11-2012 06:09 PM

Depends.

I'm picking with colors, especially for a sports car.

Personally WRB and Red you couldn't go wrong with EITHER.

However, if it was RED/WRB or Silver+saving of $750. I would get WRB/RED.

Flashy Car == Flashy Color FTW.

Flat Black VW 10-11-2012 06:17 PM

I took a 10 hour overnight train and made a 480 mile drive home the next day to get the color and options (or should I say lack there of) I wanted. Also I was impatient and wanted the car ASAP.
