That was exactly his point

I was at a track this past Saturday... Seeing cars lose it on a track where there's plenty of run-off space and where all the drivers are aware of the other cars around them was scary enough. She's probably going to stay home most of this week, taking her to the track again next Sunday!

I can only imagine what this would be hella scary to drive past. I'm glad the passengers were okay, and hope the drive ends up being okay as well.

Back when I was racing I was too young for mam I plan on joining my local scca autocross club next spring after I take delivery of my frs and I get it broken in. I'm not saying street racing is a good thing but there are a lot worse thing kids can do.

No, it wasn't. Read the post again. He never mentions anything but RWD without traction control:
"Yes, people used to drive RWD cars with no traction control all the time before front wheel crap. It was no big deal, they just died a lot."
Thus seeming to imply that that was the only reason for the higher fatalities (he doesn't mention any safety improvements).

Again, I doubt that front wheel drive has much to do with decreasing fatalities.

Also worth noting are disk brakes, radial tires, and the fact that DUI was more or less a form of entertainment up until the 1980s.

Found this at IIHS.

The Ferrari California was 748% more likely to be in a crash last year than average. I'll be interested to see what next years statistics say about the Scion/BRZ.

To the couple fighting about the BRZ/FRS crash rates. It's been stated by every car review comparing the two that the Subie has understeer at the limit and the FRS has oversteer. Yes the FRS is going to crash more when people run out of talent.
Lol I love how they think that my Credit Rating helps determine my driving abilities >.<

Hi, I also was at that Ralphs in Orange when the accident occurred. I checked on here to see if someone had posted it, and found this thread.

There was a loud screeching noise followed by 3 or 4 loud thumps from when the car rolled over. I also saw the wrx and integra, but thought that they were friends with the driver and passengers of the FRS, but then they did leave once the cops started arriving.

The driver/passengers in the wrx and integra, were young, Asians, and the driver/passengers in the FRS were middle-aged Caucasian. I don't think they knew each other, I'm pretty sure the 3 cars were street racing. For those in the area, the street where the accident happened has a nice long straight away, and then there happens to be a slight curve. The curve was where the accident occurred, so I think the FRS was speeding down at a very fast speed and didn't expect the turn, so he ended up hitting a tree and flipping the car many times.

I saw the firefighters cut open the car with the jaws of life. They cut both the A and B pillars, and then peeled the roof back like a sardine can. I was surprised both the passengers were fine, the passenger in the rear seat was very tall. But as the OP wrote, the driver was unconscious when they brought him out.

There is no surprise at all. If you can't keep your finances in order, you are more likely careless in other areas too. There are always exceptions, but statistically (insurance operates with probability) it is correct.

woah! i just read this whole thread. i have to say, everyone is just jumping to conclusions. yall also dont seem to realise that under certain conditions, its easier to roll a car at a slower speed (~50KM/H) than at a higher.
seriously you dont know what happend (yet) the guys that sped of could have just stopped? i mean the op said he heard a crash, then he ran outside, then he saw 2 cars stop. if they were racing the cars would have been already stopped i think by yhe time the OP ran outside.
either way, i hope for a recovery to the driver and no injuries to the passangers
does anyone have any news??
