This car is seriously underpowered compared to a Sienna. Siennas haul ass, a lot of ass, 7 asses to be exact with DVD players and screens for the middle bench and rear bench and foldable, removable seats to haul even more illegal immagrants all while the A/C is blasting artic air through the vents.

Let's see the FR-S/BRZ haul more than a Sienna. Yeah, didn't think so. This thread is rediculous.

In the Frs benefits that's nearly 5k and upgrades that can be applied to performance...which will aid and completing against a Challenger(don't forget the 1300 lb difference). Idk if you have checked out the jdm option magazine...where Drift king beat a skyline via AE86 in touge...Skyline is wayyy better than a challenger...so idk apples to oranges, banana's to turtles. The Frs is a great platform, to build on .In regards to domestics really all they do is put big ass motors in them, suspension isn't really looked at(corvette excluded). I know I have domestics. Current car is a 83' cutlass w/ 68 olds 350 pushing a minimum of 300hp.

Check out this video

a 66 corvette vs a 1969 hurst olds...

Hurst/Olds came standard with a 365-horsepower 455 Rocket V8, or an optional 370 horsepower
Weight:3,515
Motor:365-370

The weight difference is the main thing that made the vette win, which is only 500lbs. So hands down 5 k in upgrades on a frs will put the smack down on a Challenger if we look at I spend as much money on my car as you spent on yours out the box...
Is that this showdown you're talking about?

It was at the Gunma Cycle Sports Center. GTR does alright, but it's a little too heavy for that course.

12000miles/year / 22mpg = 545gallons * $3.50 = $1907

For $507/year I'd rather drive I want. I like saving $500 but not so much I'd compromise what car I'd buy. Keep in mind when I say this I have ordered my FR-S so I'm not a troll. I do find it funny calling the WRX a converted family car, I don't think you've competitively raced a modern one.
A good point in your scenario, however I personally hit about 20k miles in a year and my company also pays me mileage. So the less money I spend on gas the more money I make on mileage on top of saving at the pump. So without doing any math I'd say my gap is quite a bit wider and others are likely also in this scenario.

Best post. We need a new spec that's basically horsepower * butts for a true theoretical power demonstration. If a car pulls 200HP but is moving 7 physical people that's 1400HP!!!

Or shit load of torque.

I heard the analogy of HP vs TQ...
with HP being a body builder and torque being a sprinter/dasher? Is that an accurate portrayal?

I do understand the the FR-S isn't about straightline power, but let's be real, its slow.
I thought it was 16.3@90 plus for auto?

Most cars are faster but their crap handling is incomparable to the 86.

You got it backwards. If anything, torque is the body builder and HP is the sprinter/dasher.

Torque is the push in the back you feel when accelerating quickly from low speed. HP is what helps propel your car to its top speed.

Actually...
Truck: Lots of torque, low revving, low HP would be equivalent of a body builder
Sports car: Lower torque, high revving, high HP would be equivalent of a sprinter
So you're right on that part

Um...yes....now you're starting to understand.

Keep in mind that HP is a function of torque & engine speed.
