AVO what differences are in the FB vs FA besides displacement and compression ratio? You would think the FA was designed to be stronger as the main target was the tuners as this engine has shown.

I sincerely wish manufacturers actually planned things out like that. The truth is, sadly, they just occasionally get things right by accident.

We will be ordering one up and taking it apart to see, won't know for certain till then.

From what I read about the new engine, it is more like the older engines than the fa20. No direct injection. Just new materials and design. For a 2.5l engine, making170 hp and170 lb tq, I'm not impressed. Seems like another cheap design to me. Better, but not up to current standards.

they can easily get more power out of that engine but that causes more strain and since it's meant to go on a non-sporty car, there is no need for the expensive parts. it'sall about business not capability.

I wish they had made the FA20 a 2.5 by boring out the cylinders instead of trying to squeeze 200 hp out of the 2.0 by using a high compression ratio and sacrificing all the torque.

2.5 engine with 200 hp and 190 tq would make me very happy!

I think the question is can the FA heads and intake be swapped onto the FB25? Then adjust the tuning to get a FA25.

This is never the case (aside from a couple exceptions to the rule, one of them not being a 25K car). The world we live in today, its all about being cost effective. Design margins are lower than they were in the past. This engine was not design with tuners in mind, it was made this strong by "mistake"

This reminds me of all the B20 builds back in the day for hondas. Higher displacement CRV 2L longblock with a high revving B16 head. Benefited from a lot of extra torque!

I had one!! High compression, N/A on a Civic, Crower Cams, JDM Type R tranny, it was GREAT!

/Back on topic.

Can't wait for this kit to be out, that Dyno plot is all I ever wanted for this DD beauty!
