Stunning power levels from something we all had no faith in initially. The E85 is the stuff to run, needs to be more of that in Australia and we could go crazy

Anything over 800, is really pushing them. However, that was the consensus when I was hanging out with lots of supra people back in the early 2000's. That could be different now with E85 and like 8-10 more years of tuning experience people now have with them.

i swear i read 9k in one of their posts.... ohh well but 8500 rpms at over 400 whp is still a lot of revs on stock internals

Don stated on his thread his Rev limiter is at 8800 RPM.

Don caught air in 4th gear, and he didn't overrevved to 9K. The problem was he was going at whatever speed in 4th (lets say 100 mph) and when he caught air the engine revved up to his redline (8800 RPM) and when the car landed, the torque being produced while the car was at 8800 RPM in the air caught up to the tranny with the friction on the wheels and that's when the selector imploded.

(Obviously I was not THERE, but this is what I gathered from Don's explanation).

ohh yeah and when Don took flight, when the engine's rpm got pulled down when he made contact with the ground he lucky the engine didnt blow, it blows my mind that it didnt, i think 700whp is the ceiling for any type of reliability with the best tune and best quality gas, i dont know if the open deck block can take much more, the walls have to give at some point.

8800 rpm is still a lot, especially with the boost they are running, its not the fact that its revving to 8800 rpms, but how fast its actually getting there, i could only imagine the amount of g forces the pistons are going through at 8800 rpms, and also the amount of g forces generated getting the engine there as fast as it does, its only a matter of time before something blows up.

i personally dont need to see the engine go any further, from what ive seen, im very happy with the build quality of the engine, any more hp pushed on the stock block, its just bragging rights i can tell my friends, because i wouldnt dd 500 whp from a 2L anyday. I would dd a 500 whp v10 though, response it everything in my world

I don't need to see anymore either, but it is FUN watching the motor being pushed to its limit and hold up.
