Geeze, what on earth is it gonna take to make these engines self-destruct? The lil 86 is certainly shaping up to be a modern take on the Supra. I was expecting forged everything would become a necessity above 400bhp but the FA20 just keeps on ticking.

Things are kinda at the stage where it's time to stop worrying about horsepower and time to starting working on moving that redline higher. It'd be awesome to see a 10,000rpm buzz-box with monster turbos putting muscle-cars to shame

I am astounded at how well built this motor is in stock form. Amazing for something that was built for NA.

Likewise. When this car first dropped I was saying "If it can only hold 250whp I will be happy". On paper the motor had so much going against it, NA internals, high compression, past Subaru ringland failure, the funny injection system. I love it.

Did you guys ever post a link of your stage 1 kit? Im still not seeing it anywhere. would be nice to compare prices/kits with others.
Well, you could click on Full Blown's screen name and go to his profile. Then go to statistics and search for threads started by Full Blown. It's the second of two threads.

Or you could go to search and type Full Blown. It's the seventh one down

Or you could look 6 threads down from this one.

The thread is titled "Full Blown FRS/BRZ Stage 1 Turbo Kit" which I understand is a little ambiguous.

sorry, I couldn't resist.

Just think of how many different vendors are beating the snot out of these motors with high power levels. Have we even seen a blown motor yet?

Different drivers, different suspension setups, different tracks and different weather could easily add up to give a full second difference.

Also, Don has been very tight lipped about the setup of his car so even if they did bother to go to the same tack on the same day they still wouldn't know if the comparison was apples to apples or not.

These threads are about making power, and these guys are now making the most.
Looking at a time slip you can get a pretty good idea of how much power a car has, unless they are sandbagging. Regardless if they are consistent or not.

I love Rollin highways and finding cars to do pulls with. This would be an excellent car for that.

I have a feeling that 8.5 wouldn't be a problem at all with springs an retainers.

True, but you can also get a good idea of how much power they are making by measuring how much power they are making, with a dyno. Oh wait... :happy0180:

Man, I'm really in a mood today. I hope this comes off as funny sarcastic not ****ish sarcastic.

hahaha got a good laugh out of that, but in all seriousness a trap speed and ET tells me more about a car than a dyno, dynos read different and dont take into account real world effects. Its a very good way to measure power for sure, but I think taking it to the track is really what shows a cars worth.
