91 AKI Fuel on 86

Has anyone been running their 86 on 91 AKI (RON 95) fuel on 86? The manual says recommended 93 AKI (RON 98) fuel but 91 AKI can be used when the former is not available.

I am curious whether the performance drop is noticeable in daily drive

All we get is 91 out on the west coast. It works fine.

Great to hear that. In fact, the price per litre of RON97 fuel is 58% more expensive than RON95 here. I find it not economically justifiable to use RON97 if the car can run on RON95 (91 AKI) without noticeable drop in performance.

there's probably a negligible drop in performance. But since we can't get anything better than 91 here, I just won't know what I'm missing. In California we have some of the WORST gas. The car is fine other than all the fuel pump chirps from ethanol.

I tend to run Shell V power 91 (no ehtynol) as opposed to Petro Canada 94 (10% ethynol)

I have noticed no difference between the two

if you guys notice he is not in the USA. If I remember right, other countries have different values that are equaled to our 91 here in the states.

He asked about 91 AKI, which is the way US measures octane.

AKI = Anti Knock Index = (RON+MON)/2

Yes, 91 AKI is equivalent to RON95 in my region.
