[REQ] BRZ Halo Lights always on w/ Ignition

Hey, has anyone made it so that the halo lights (or whatever you want to call them) are always on when the car's running?

I'd imagine it's a fairly easy mod but I'm afraid to go off and do it without any guidance -- LEDs can easily be burnt out if you don't give them the proper voltage / amperage, also there's the fact that some of you probably know of some convenient wires to tap in the area, so I thought I'd put a request out there and hope that somebody's done it before :P

You can look up my thread I did this mod, but with Halos for my FR-S. I would say u would have to isolate those wires cut them and plice them into the same wires I used. This is not very simple but can be done. I haven't seen the BRZ wiring though.

Can't you just throw a relay off the DRL's and have that switch the Halo's on? Snip the Halo positive lead, throw it on the relay, then find a switched or even constant and put it on the relay?

This is something I definitely plan to do, along with the LED strip, just haven't gotten around to doing it yet. Ill post a basic DIY when I do though if no one else has done it yet.

I guess it may not be considered an LED strip to everyone but the lights in the lower portion of the bumper, above the limited's fog lights. I dont like that they turn off when the headlights turn on.

Possibly, but I didn't see when I was poking around.

Did some quick looking at the circuit diagram. One would have to energize the tail relay to have halo lights on (along with side markers and tail lights).
The relay is inside the body ecu by the left driver's knee box. One has to ground pin 50 of 3A connector to energize the tail relay.

In the same connector on different pins there is a signal that energizes some ignition relays, so I'm guessing it should be good.
So throw another relay that's activated by pins 15&12 of 3A and connects pin 50 to Ground. To be completely safe maybe some diodes are needed into whatever connects to pin 50 (can't find what it is), not sure. It's been a while since I did any wiring.

Now someone should try it

On a second thought (given that I didn't find where the pin 50 goes, unless it's unused completely), it's probably safer to wire the relay trigger to some ignition lead on the 3C connector and make the relay connect that wire to 3C pin 12 or 13 (forgot exactly which one feeds the halo lights).
