Haha, nah, I kept paying deposit until they told me to hang onto it, mine's all good.

(why get a car loan when you can layby? Order an 86 and pay it off before it gets in!)

Haha, that's exactly what I'm doing with the BRZ. Works out well

He has informed me that Toyota has started trying to meet the demand and are matching more GTS's than GT's so the wait time has been reduced from the previous expected 12+ months wait.

Last month my dealership (midland toyota) was matched 2 GTS's.

So apparently from now on GTS's are being matched in order of purchase.

I originally ordered a Grey GTS Auto which is still in the system but then due to the wait time i freaked out and went F#!K it and changed the order to a GT Manual instead.

If the GTS Auto arrives before the GT Manual i think ill take the GTS Auto instead.

Anyone else heard anything like this from their dealer?

I just want my damn car, i am sick of driving around in my commodore that feels like a boat compared to the 86

Hey mate, I think I'll find the news is mainly for wa purchases as it was twa that has got more allocation, we aren't as fortunate to get 2 gts's a month per dealership, I think it was like 25 dealerships and 15 a month initially, wa was getting piss all, but good news for u anyways

My dealer rang me last Tuesday:

TMCA have just secured another 740 vehicles for the end of the year, with an additional 700 for the first quarter of 2013.

He offered me one of six GTS manual in white, nov production, december delivery confirmed, as i was one of the first few orders. With these 6 he was offering them to existing orders first.

I said I'd wait for my Grey one...

He said I would probably have it allocated to me in the next month of builds, and therefore make Dec build, and failing that, with all the additional vehicles, the orders should be cleared or at least relieved early next year...

I had rang TMCA that morning and the fellow there did mention that TMCA had secured some more vehicles to help relieve supply restrictions... So it all adds up

Unfortunately no he didn't give me any figures just said that GT's might take longer than the GTS's to come in now

January delivery would still be fine with me either way. I mean I want it now, but the longer I wait the better it is going to feel when I take ownership (plus helps me pay more on other debts).

My dealer is doing the right thing in a way by not promising me anything more than the date he told me orginally and even then said maybe March. Better to under sell and over deliver

Bugger

If everything was good in the next few weeks I would be in a purchasing situation. Just after the basic spec GT in the manual. Thing is im going to be driving alot in the southwest region in early december around Albany and Busselton. So if i could get any manual GT by or before that date i would be happy to take another persons in W.A. change of order. Thats if that situation arises and if the next few weeks of mine go to plan without any pop up expenses.

I just got a call from my dealer today. My GTS AT White is now set for a November build, and December/Jan delivery!!

My previous estimate was mid next year, so this has taken me by complete surprise!! I placed my order on 20th July. Now all i need to do is find the cash to pay for it 6 months earlier than planned, haha.

Dealer just called. Gave me a new GTS batch number with November confirmed production. Finally. He said there have been more allocations.
