1st oil change @ 990 then CEL. Coincidence?

So at 990 miles yesterday I changed my oil out of superstition. Plus I wanted some clean oil in there before I started to really open up the throttle.

I used O'reilly's Fully Synthetic 0w-20 with a Mobil 1 filter. I had always used O'reilly's F/S oil in my s13 with an s15 SR20DET and never had any issues whatsoever so I trust it. The old oil was surprisingly dark for only having 990ish miles on the clock. After I had drained the oil, I stuck a telescoping magnet up in the oil pan and fished around for any signs of metal shavings. Good news. The magnet came out clean of shavings!

On my way home from work, I decided to get on the throttle. First took it to 6k, then 7k another time. My s13 is pushing around 300whp and let me say I am VERY pleasantly surprised at the grunt this little boxer has! Sorry off topic lol

Anyways, about 1 mile or 2 after I pushed the car to the upper RPM range, I came to a stop light, shifted to N and then I noticed the idle dropped really low and the car began shaking violently, and the CEL was blinking. When the idle rose back up to "normal" the car felt like it was misfiring. I continued to drive home as this happened only like 2 blocks away from my house and noticed that the CEL disappears when driving. I pull into my garage and immediately call up Magic Toyota/Scion of Lynnwood and explain to them the issue. I originally had an appointment with them on Thursday to take care of my tail light condensation problem but this is a bit more serious so they had me bring it in that day.

While I was on my way to the dealership, the CEL became solid and the skid light also turned on. I noticed that when the SL is on, the VSC and traction control buttons are not functional, also a HUGE loss of power from 1-4k RPMs. I kept it under 4k RPMs in fear of causing more harm. I think the SL just puts the car into some kind of limp mode to prevent further damage that may occur.

So my I dropped my car off yesterday and they're supposed to be reflashing my ECU tomorrow due to a P0019 code. I am not fully convinced that a simple ECU reflash/reprogram will fix this issue. Let this be strike 1 towards Lemon Law, although I do hope that they can fix this. This car has really grown on me and I thoroughly enjoy driving it. Anyways, regarding the oil change to CEL, I'm positive that this is just a funky coincidence. The dealer hasn't said anything about the Mobil 1 filter or the unusually clean oil so I HOPE they won't use that against me to snake their way out of any repairs.
