Are they that bad? I've never really used the manual controls, but, other than the looks, don't they work as advertised?

Not for me. I need one knob for fan speed and one for temperature and a clearly labeled button that controls a/c. I'm one of those weirdos that dislikes auto climate control.

My far left knob feels a little off, sometimes its smooth and sometimes it takes some extra effort to turn. Not a big deal but it is noticable.

I don't like touch screens when driving. It's a destraction having to look at where to touch instead of just feeling for a button.

But the whole point of this is to have an "automatic" climate control system right? That means you're not really feeling for a button all the time.

OR

Is this just digitizing the controls (which then it's all just bling..)

I'm in for this is this turns out to be "automatic" like the BRZ Limited.

The picture seems to indicate you still retain physical buttons for temp and fan speed, so it just comes down to getting rid of tacky OEM controls.
