Sorry you are under the wrong impression, it will have an automatic gearbox with paddles.... and triptronic is a sport-mode in a normal autobox, you can just put it in D.

You are mistaken. Will be fully auto with the ability to go in manual mode and use the paddles.

Of course. Although, I'll wait and see what subaru throws out before I decide. :P You'll know its my car when you see yashio factory pink rims and a kick ass custom car design in Diamond Jamboree. :P I look forward to the car meets.

I also don't understand why some of you "guys" speak for women. Lol The women I know drive stick and the other few drive autos. Most women aren't even into cars in the first place so they WON'T be looking at this car. Especially girls who are just graduating high school. However, if rich daddy wants to get his baby girl a RWD car go for it. She'll be fishtailing that car like no other and the stereotype of bad women drivers will be flagged again.

I hope there are some other down to earth female drivers out there. There's probably one or two on this board that haven't spoken much or at all.

Miata was called a girly car because I'm pretty sure that barbie had it.. It was and still is a awesome performer regardless of how it's perceived. The problem with rich kids getting the 86, not knowing how tO drive a rwd and ploughing it in to a poll will mean the premium will go up for the rest of you after a while as the car will get a bad repp. This won't do any good to scions brand name (and let's face it it's all about the brands. Wish it wasn't tho..)
You can call me immature all you want but I'd rather get a Mazda mx6 than a ford probe, even tho it was essentially the same car. I'm not entirely sure you fully comprehend the possible consequences of this, and I'm not about to go and explain it in detail.
Like I said Australia will be getting a Toyota, so this doesnt affect me directly..

the tC has tons of female owners. so much so that scion made the 2011 more masculine to escape the chick car stereotype. what makes anyone think a cooler looking, faster, but not much more expensive car wont attract women? RWD a problem? most bmw 1er owners think their car is FWD... RWD wont affect potential buyers one bit...

We've basically narrowed it down to one of the Aisin 6-spd(auto and manual) transmissions. Which are the ones in the RX-8 and the Miata.

It's funny that girls/women get a special reputation for bad driving when Americans generally have a bad reputation for driving. I think it has something to do with woman doing more things while driving. Which if anyone of you have seen Wing Commander is because woman can track more targets at a time than men .

And fishtailing is not just a front engine RWD problem, it's a sports car in the hands of a newbie driver problem. The Prelude had a known problem with that and it is FWD, as do many muscle cars, but add in the MR2 had that and that is mid engine RWD.

I think it actually has more to do with the muscular design that Mazda uses . The RX-8 is a more feminine(not girly) than most cars and so is the Miata. Their power only being a part of that. And Mazda variants > Ford's anyday. Mazda is more about the spirit of driving than power and I can respect that.

/end Seriousness

And I'm now I know I'm going to crash my car into a Poll someday, I just know it. Poor future Polish person or election poll or person named Poll . Curse my bad but inevitable luck!

^-yeah what you said is true, but giving the car more of a masculine look will help it not seem like a girls car. Around where I live I swear there are more women driving 350z's than men, but the car still gives a more masculine aura.

...either way American men need to stop being so damn insecure and trying to prove their masculinity. Last I checked to be a man you need balls and penis....cars had nothing to do with it.

I think Toyota will use the newest Aisin transmission if they ever use one. The new ones are MT and AT with paddle shifters( I checked weeks ago).
A car looks feminine is ok for me, but the one looks gay is different story. I don't mean that "gay", so don't be offended gay members.

exactly. most guys however DO use a car to extend their length ( i somehow think this doesnt really help in the bedroom.. )
but i personaly dont think any car is sexually orientated. eg a miata = a track car IMO where as a mazda 2 = a shopping trolley with wheels.
there are some cars that just look plain shit (i wont name which ones, dont really want to offend some ppl here)
everyone just links the poor little 2 with chics BECAUSE girls think its little, its cute, its easy to park etc (my gf has a yarris sedan, her best firend has a civic and so on and so forth) and their daddy goes OH airbags, abs, my baby will be safe in this..
and as for the girls driving autos.. thats only in the states.. MOST of girl friends drive manual (in heels/platforms might i add) and only a few drive auto (but so do a few of my guy friends). this goes for my friends over in few diff countries in europe as well as here in australia, so transmition isnt sexualy orientated either, i think its just that (no offence) americans are lazy and prefer auto..
