$59 bucks shipped on eBay. I'll see if I get burned (at a min I hope I don't get literally burned). First company I tried ordering from said they were out of stock. This one shipped from Canada and took about a week.

sorry i worded (if that is a word) it wrong. What i meant was the focus beam isent as good as projectors for HID bulbs, can you post pics of the lights against a wall?

I'll roll it into the shop about 10 ft away from the wall and do some cutoff comparisons. Not real world results, but better than nothing.

You won't get as good of light as with real HID projectors but it will still be better than stock, same debate with the real vs "fake" wheel guys.

thanks to both of you, i was putting off HID's since people said it was bad to use stock projectors, and i didn't feel like spending $300 on lights. Looks like i will be able to get HID's while i black out my housing.

Alright... Geez can't find the Photobucket login @ home. Anyways got them on my private server.

Again... We don't sell HID headlights. This was a 15 min mod. I need to find a better mounting solution and seal up the connection to the stock plugs. When I use to do some long range wireless installs on towers, we had a rubberized electrical tape that worked well. Applied normal electrical tape on top of that as well and wrapped it a certain way to seal and encourage water to roll off. Not that I think a lot of water is going to get in this area.

Probably the easiest HID install I've ever done. Only done them for my personal vehicles as well. Eldorado (later changed to E39 lights), MR2 Spyder (bi xenon), and the FJ (later changed to LED).

Stock

Half

6000k ($59 shipped on fleabay)

Since the sun was setting I recorrected the white balance in each picture. Aperture remained the same, but it wasn't manual exposure. I figured it wouldn't be much good with the sun setting anyways. You might see that I accidentally kicked the tripod between the 2nd and 4rd picture .

I probably should have gone with 4300k for higher light output. The color seems easy on the eyes (it wasn't exactly pitch black when I drove it), but I believe the light output could have been higher with a 4300k kit. Maybe it's not fair since the FJ has 12 forward facing lights (LED headlights, 4x 9" HID, 2x 35 watt lights to the obliques, 2x fog/foul weather driving, and 2x fog/foul weather fogs).

I have more pics, but I'm still working to see what our status will be on the site. This exploration into the FR-S is more my baby at the moment.

As requested. That was a natural lens flare.

I would have to say that these lights take PNP HID kits quite well. The cutoff is not bad at all and there is very little glare. I have driven at night with them and nobody has done the "high beam flash" at me because I blinded them.

I have even purposely driven behind and at friends to see what they thought and they all agreed it looks normal.

I would say there is no real need for the retrofit in this car, just my .02.
