For those who were compensated, what's the catch?

For those who actually have been compensated by Scion or Subaru (please specify which one), did you have to sign something, give up any rights? Please let us know how the process was completed.

Thanks,

For those with problems, people have been opening up cases with Scion and have been assigned a case manager. Case manager will provide compensation of one type or another, like extended platinum warranty, car payments, etc. after repair is completed.

Or

You can see my detailed story on this Forum elsewhere, but I received a replacement car after a week and a half with my FR-S not being fixed. My case manager at Scion Customer Service offered me a one month rebate on my car payment. I also received the 100K warranty at dealer cost.

I didn't have to sign anything that waives my rights in any way (of course, I got a new car, so this wouldn't apply.

I'm more concerned about those enticed to keep their cars as opposed to being given new ones. I wonder if they are allowed to pubically announce the details? Do they forego their rights to use 'lemon laws', etc.

Week and a half not a bad wait time for a new FR-S and month off payment. Were you able to get the same FR-S?

I did receive the same color. The dealer owns several other Toyota dealerships in the area, and pulled one from there.

I just opened my case today about the dealership fixing my chirp once and refusing to fix it again when it came back. They refused to reflash the ECU or try any fix at all.

no we are not allowed to discuss any of it especially after signing the release and even though they say it's a "standard" form, it is tailored to each individual case from what I've gathered. Same as them choosing who gets compensation.

reflashing the ECU does not have anything to do with the chirping sound of the HPFP

^^bingo^^ only people that will even hear the word compensation are people with the CEL issue
There is nothing wrong with calling them in regards to any issue. The more people that report any problem the more likely they will be to tsb or recall if needed.

It was a stretch I know but their current idea of changing the fuel pump doesn't work the last reflash made it go away for a little bit for whatever reason I'm not signing anything that says I can't lemon this thing because if they can't fix it I don't want it

IANAL, but when I was reading the actual document, it sounded as though there's some language that says you CAN'T disclaim your lemon law rights.

It does seem odd that you can sign a document to waive your lemon law rights. You'd think the state would want those rights to have great weight with the manufacturers and dealers. You'd then think dealers would be trying to get people to waive them for lots of little issues.
