Lots of mags/websites have put it at a mid 6 second pace to 60mph. It likely feels quicker since it requires a 2-3 upshift at 59mph...which adds a few tenths to the final number depending on the driver.

The thing I like about C&D is that they publish ''real'' life 0-60 times and its called 5-60 times. Its a time without a launch and these are times that most daily drivers should be more aware of. 0-60 will never be done on regular roads it will be 5-60 instead.

Am i missing something, why will 0-60 never be done on regular roads?? Cant always rolling start every red light. Also 0-60 is kind of nice to know how the car can actually hook up off the line. I find the FR-S is pretty terrible off the line, unless u do a really hard/high rpm drop.

That's the point. You don't or can't really dump the clutch at regular daily drive, and it's illegal to drive like that on streets as well.

I swear it's getting harder and harder to tell what people are trying to say. What does "at regular daily drive" mean?

The only way to get a decent launch in this car is to dump the clutch. As long as you're not constantly doing it, it will be fine. Dump it taking off from every traffic light and you may have issues...

Do you launch at every stoplight? If so it doesn't apply to you but I have never seen someone launch a car on public roads unless they were racing.

Here is a bet for gas money.

Drive around Vancouver for about 2-3 hours. 1 hour in the morning, 1 hour during lunch, and 1 hour in the evening.

every single stop sign, every single stop light, you are to accelerate like a bat out of hell and switch gears ONLY at 7000pm.

If you don't get pulled over, i will paypal you the cost of your week's gas or something.

record your experience on camera.

also, a stock FRS and BRZ break traction way too easily on those shitty tires in 1st gear, it's just not safe on public roads.

I still don't understand the logic. Just because I care how the car starts from a stop according to your logic im a street racer? I've seen a lot of reviews include 0-60s and 5-60s- it's good information to have. No need to be a troll to make a point.

That's my point though. When I say "daily driving", I mean there's no need to get a "decent launch" from the light while commuting. Just rev up to 1000-1500 rpm and release the clutch gently like you're just "rolling" from stop instead of punch it out.

Every manual driver I know will, at the very least, give it some revs and slip the clutch if he wants to get a quicker start.

Thread went worse than expected. The article is useless when not presented in the context of the magazine which was trying to decide whether the extra cost is worth the added enjoyment. I mean they compared a Prius and a Fisker Karma. In this case the Cayman S won a very tight decision. I feel like the BRZ Limited would have beaten the Cayman S. The idea of someone deciding to drive a BRZ Limited instead of a Cayman S to utilize the $45,000+ difference is not that hard to understand as that is what I did.

Good points. The Prius v. Fisker Karma was an especially dumb comparison as those cars, despite both being hybrids, were designed with VERY different purposes in mind.

The other issue with the comparisons is that everyone values money differently. Part will depend on how much disposable income you have available, and part will depend on your preferences in how you want to spend your money.

BTW I also chose an FR-S over a Cayman S. Not worth the difference in price for me.
