Car and Driver- Scion Test Drive
Hi everyone this my first post! I apologize if I posted this wrong its late and I am very tired. The website states an estimated base price of 25k which I think is pricey and a curb weight of 2,800 - 2,900lbs which isn't less than the initial 2,700 as mentioned in another post. Not sure if I read in Car and Driver or Motortrend that the U.S. Scion model will get the full 200hp.

First bold is fail, at least for people who want FR-S. The second bold is even more fail, at least for people living in the US. Third bold is extreme fail, at least for me. I don't give a damn about 200hp vs 197hp.

Dude the FR-S is 200 HP and around 2700 pounds if you get the 6 speed manual version.
I think the BRZ came in at 2765 pounds, so the FRS will be no heavier than the BRZ. |

In the latest Car and Driver (with the feature on the new Cobra) there is a preview on the FR-S/BRZ. I can't find it online but the gist was:
*$26,000 est. price *28xx lbs for manual, I believe *0-60 in 6 seconds *21 - 29 mpg *it drove fantastically almost similar to the dynamics of the first gen. S2000 *BRZ understeers and needs to be provoked to slide, the FRS does it naturally It was a positive yet luke warm article - praised the cars for their driving dynamics and engine but didn't come off as overly enthusiastic as other journalists are. |

I get your point, still, I appreciate automotive journalists pointing out shortcomings of things that may or may not be relevant to the buyer - you may not see the need for some practicality in a Viper (golf bags?) but you probably aren't a prospective buyer - hence your criticism of C&D is just as 'trivial'. What shocked me was the 0-60 time of 6 seconds flat. C&D do have fast drivers and launch their cars in such an aggressive, abusive manner it'd be irresponsible for an owner to mimic but still.. that's a 1 second difference between them and the rest! |

On what basis do you conclude that C&D have faster or fast drivers and launch cars aggressive and abusively? |
