The first body shop gave me an estimate of late November to have all the parts in and I called bullshit. The next shop called around, got their hands on some back-ordered parts, and are trying to get to work ASAP. Should have her back on her feet by the end of October. If she doesn't drive right, I'll trade her in. :/
That sucks

Something similar happened to my STi. I got T-Boned and they didn't call it totaled. In retrospect I should have ran into the damn pole that I stopped infront of because I had to trade it in and got hit pretty hard by the loss... at least they didn't know it was in an accident.

Yeah, I kind of see it this way: if it's fixable to where I can drive it and not tell it was in an accident, great. But if the car will never drive right, why not freaking total so I can get a new one?

We'll see how the shop does and I'll take it from there. I'd like to keep the car as I'm pretty attached to it, but if it doesn't drive right, I'll be forced to trade it in. Hopefully for another BRZ limited, or at the very least an STI. In the meantime, it's important to remember that material things and possessions are not the be-all, end-all of life, and that health is a fleeting but wonderful thing.

DantKR, do you know if there was frame damage and if the trade-in value was diminished?

Also, WRXGuy1, sorry to see that you have to drive in or around Boston with your BRZ, and sorry about that scuff. Looks like it might be able to be touched up without a full repaint?

Police say there had been a wave of break-ins in the last few months. Most probably kids. However, it happened in a private parking garage which was supposed to be secure.

Bummer, never had a problem with my old Subies in Baltimore. I'm from Wilmington originally and most of the tourist and business districts in Baltimore seemed safe to me.

Good news on my end: the body shop got their hands on some back-order parts in advance and my repair completion date moved up to October 9th. So in 2 weeks I should have it back, assuming it drives right.

Driving through neighborhood on the way to work, a loud clunk from an acorn falling and hitting the hood just as I drove past a tree, leaving a slight dent on the aluminium hood.

Annoyed me so much that I paid $175 for savage acorn damage repair.

I'm trying to have it filed as a comprehensive claim vs collision. That would leave me with 0 deductible from the start.
