Your BRZ's first boo boo support thread

Now that we are starting to get our BRZ's it is inevitable that our babies get their first boo boo or two... I will start

I got mine a few hours ago, was breaking it in on the freeway and yup... my very first ***** in the glass. Stupid truck in front of me flung a rock at me. Luckily it didn't hit the paint! Or at least I cant see where it did! So there we go... no more "perfect" brz

Thats the reason i never go behind trucks. I keep my distance

I suggest a clear bra to avoid rock chips

Get it fixed. The sooner the better. The longer you wait, the more dirt it will get in it, and the more visible it will be after it's fixed.

At least that rock didn't hit you in the eye!

There is blood all over the front of mine from a random bug cloud I went through.

thanks for the support guys! This thread is already helping haha. And yes clear bra appointment tomorrow morning at 8:30am! I will get a quote for the window too. Luckily its a very very small divot... honestly only reason I can see it is because the rest of the wind shield is still perfect

Got a ding on my hood already, all the way to the metal underneath. Taking it in for permaplate soon, so I'll see if they can touch it up as well.

How much for your clear bra? Most shops dont have the template yet.

Just wondering which shop is that. San jose area?

I had mine done at the dealer but i
Have a friend looking for a cheaper shop.

Let me know. Thanks!

My current car has a cracked windshield from a flying rock kicked up by a truck. Like others have said, the sooner you get it fixed the better.

I plan on keeping VERY far back from any car in front of me when I get my BRZ.

Get clear bra at a place that custom cuts the film. It allows the installer to better hide the film edges in the lines of the car.

It'll cost $600-$800 depending on how much coverage you get and the shop.

I am going to a place in Pleasanton called Kar Tunz tomorrow morning. The guy I am working with is Chris. I am paying a pretty penny... I did a ton of research on the clear bras... because a template has yet to be made (and from what I have been told from a few people is the templates are usually good but not "great"). I was advised to pay up and do a custom bra. Thats how I found Chris... from a few different sources I have heard that he is THE MAN when it comes to clear bras... literally celebs fly him out to do their very very nice cars. I got a total of 4 quotes for the entire hood, bumper, fenders, and mirrors... anywhere from $1200 to $1700. From what I have heard you really want to get the clear bra done right the first time. I ended up going for the more expensive, very highly recommended route. I will post a review of Chris's work in the Cali section when I get the car back on Thursday... clear bra and tint tomorrow at Kar Tunz!

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Went to pick up my car today. They sent it to the detailing shop and as I was coming back to finalize the deal I got a phone call. The detailers found a scratch on the panel above the rear passenger wheel...........soooo pissed. They showed me the scratch and it's not merely a light surface scratch...it looks like there are two little nicks in the paint.

They SAID that it'll be fixed and will look perfect...but I'll have to wait another couple days.

Here's the car at the detailer:

And here's a pic of the scratch...it's got some wax on top...the scratch is just that smaller zigzag shape to the left of the wax:

I'm gonna go back to crying now.
