Mine showed up around the 500 mile mark, but I can't be sure. I may call into the dealer to see if there has been a TSB. Not noticing any lost of power or function.

This thread was running well before an E85 tune was available that people are running, and the chirps were already discussed....so of course you wouldn't hear anything else....after a while the chirp isn't worth talking about anymore, cause its a 2600 psi pump.

No more trying to find gas that cancels out the noise.

Quick fix guys.

As for how many KM's. Not too much. Been about 200KM so far and yes I fill up on 91 all the time and drift like a maniac

I'll let you guys know if it comes back in the next 800KM but I think it's fixed.

So you didn't get a "new" revised fuel pump. Sorry to hear but always check here and post your part numbers first before claiming a definitive fix with "new" parts. Spreading misinformation without any evidence gets us nowhere and keeps perpetuating this issue.

So, to bring those of us up to date who are too lazy to read back through multiple pages, has it been determined that the cause of the chirping is the fuel pump, or the injectors?

It is absolutely coming from the direct injection high pressure fuel pump, when the engine is HOT, after the car has been revved up over 4k rpm, and the engine is idling with 10% ethanol gasoline in the tank. If any one of those criteria aren't met, then it's very likely that you will not hear the chirp.

Ok, thank you for summing it up. Has anyone had a fuel pump failure? Is there an improved pump that will be coming out? Is the sky going to turn orange and rain mangoes? Important questions!

On other questions - is it seriously that hard to read a few recent pages in this topic?

9-800 miles w/ 10% ethanol gas= Chirps
801-3300 miles w/ ethanol free gas= zero Chirps

Was in a rush the other day and filled up with Shell 92 w/ 10% ethanol, chirps return in 10 minutes! she is THAT sensitive!
