Just got my FR-S back from the dealer.

Drove it pretty hard home on a nice empty part of the 202. Drives absolutely perfect, no idle issues or hesitance in the throttle. Goddamn I miss driving this thing.

Sheet says:
Quote:
Installed SU003-04521 :UNIT-EGI CONTROL
REPLACED ECM
Installed SU003-00096 :VALV AY0OIL CONT
Installed SU003-00287 :SPK AY-CMS, EXH LH
Installed 90080-12007 :STUD, HEX LOBULAR
Installed 00295-00103 :FIPG OIL PAN
Installed 00279-00WQTE-01 :0W20-SINGLE QUART
REPLACED B2 EXHAUST CAM GEAR AND SENSOR
Assuming all of the SU parts are Subaru.

Went in on the 6th, was told to expect 30 days on parts, but it seems as if immediately when the service guys called in the issue Toyota expedited the order and had the parts in on wednesday.

All-in-all, 8 days in the shop. Crossing my fingers it's the last time it goes in for this. I wonder if I got the new ECU or not, whoever said earlier that the new ones had a part number that ends in 811 instead of 810 doesn't seem to jive with the part numbers I have.

In kind of a fucked up way I'm glad I got the initial issue over and done with so I don't feel the same. I have the jitters about post-service work coming back to haunt me, but if it drives clean for the next 10k miles then I'll probably be fine with it.

Same here. Fortunately, I drive it sparingly as it is, so maybe I'll be able to avoid this problem until a solution is found. Still . . . makes me wish I pulled the trigger on that Mach 1 Mustang instead of this . . .

makes me feel less dorky about posting vids that don't have my animals in them. I damn near sh!t my pant's the first time it happened.

I'm not excited to turn her in to the shop. I'm on the fence about leaving her there or keeping her home & making my husband carpool so I can drive his car while I pray for a permanent fix.
I bought all the warranties they had to offer (7/100k) and I'm in love too much to lemon her.
The wait to get her was bad enough, I won't be able to sleep until this is resolved for all of us.

I'm glad I have my issue out of the way as well. I posted a pic a thread somewhere of the original ecu they took out. Had the part number on it.

Mine just went crazy today. Lagging Idle, CEL flashing, then stop flashing, then flashing again.

Alienate/FR-S/530 miles/7092xx/calling Dealer tomorrow/Reno,NV

Notes: Installed Apexi air filter yesterday. Changed oil and filter earlier today.

After letting the car sit an hour after the "incident", I took it out for a 20 mile spin and had no CEL flashing, but it did still idle rough at about 550 rpm.

I hope to hell it's just an ECU flash for a fix...
Looks like I'm gunna be number 84 on the list....

Did your MAF get loose when you put the air filter in?

Another sign of the problem being an ECU fault

Quote:
I also checked with Scion HQ. Darren a guy I'm sure many of you guys have spoken to during this entire fiasco says it's not an ECU on order but just a revised flash that's getting sent.
Is this also some kind of clarification that the problem actually IS in the ECU since they have a revised flash for it?!

Quote:
Was just told all the cars at the Houston distribution center have had their ECU flashed as of today. And that mine would be flashed within the next few days
Also this! Is there ANYONE here who actually have had their car flashed with new software yet? That has not had any mechanical parts replaced.
We know that there are working cars that got a new ECU but also new VVT parts. If it's purely ECU related, then they have done lots of work with cam sprocket in vain

For BRZ owners, has this issue been limited to one option package or another? i.e. premium or limited models. Couldn't imagine it would be, but just a thought.
