I don't think Honda has any interest in building a performance oriented car or even one that is "fun to drive". I have a 2007 Civic and it's good reliable transportation, but it's a soul crushing appliance. I was so disappointed in it that until I learned of the FR-S/BRZ, I'd decided I'd never consider another Japanese car. I'm sorry to offend any Honda fans, but I don't like mine at all. I knew from the onset that it wasn't a high performance car, but a Diesel Jetta is tons more fun to drive as a commuter...

Yep, 2010 Honda Shadow Phantom. It is my first bike so I decided to go with a 750. Once I get it paid off I'm going to move up to the Honda Fury. It is Honda's beautiful 1300cc Chopper.

Ya the fury is beautiful!!! With the financial ability to only own one bike at the moment I need to have a sport bike. But the fury is my second choice! I need some thing for longer hauls. An 8 day 4200km trip on my RR was rough on my body.

Lol. God that thing was gay...but it had a great engine(the 160HP version), later used in the '99-'00 Si coupe.

Honda definitely has the expertise to develop a smooth, high compression NA inline 4 (DI + iVTEC). Could Nissan put together a simple lightweight RWD platform? Would be an interesting collaboration.

You mean the B16A used in the late 80's early 90's civic and CRX sir models?

Amen to that, long rides were honestly the only reason I got my Phantom over a CBR. I have to say though, the Phantom was fantastic on the Blue Ridge Parkway up in the NC/TN mountains. I was scraping my pegs on damn near every turn.

i'm with you on this! a nice little sports car could catapult them back in to favor with the enthusiast, and "drive" business to the rest of the (hopefully revamped)
line! it would be a smart marketing ploy, because this is exactly what toyota is doing with the frs .looking for more "brand recognition" with scion, and possibly subaru too!

the market for small, light weight, relatively affordable, fun to drive coupes is not as large as we would like to believe. the FRS/BRZ needs 1 competitor at most. anything more, and the pie will be sliced too thinly amongst the competitors and eventually they will all abandon the market due to lack of profitability. $25K-$28K is not exactly cheap. even the miata does not sell anywhere as well today as it did the first 2 generations. the reason for it mainly has to do with the fact that the car has significantly gone up in price.

The front of the Altima coupes look very GT-Rish. I definitely wouldn't mind something like that, but they have to do something about the back.
