I'm also supposedly first at my dealer with the guy before me taking delivery of his GTS a week or two ago. This is Terry Shields Parramatta.

over 4 month difference for orders that are right next to each other? Find that hard to accept actually. Sure enough TMCA are aware demand is high and supply is scarce in terms of production, but is TMCA even aware of the injustice Australian customers are being dealt in terms of allocation COMPARATIVELY to rest of the world? Read some posts about UK getting excess of cars for example. TMCA need to read these forums and really understand what their customers are actually thinking, maybe then it might spur them to take more aggressive action to resolve the matter.
I ordered mine for Terry Shields, an Orange GTS manual on 23 June. A month ago they told me November build, December delivery. I haven't even bothered calling them to continue to check. I was aiming for a 2013 build date in the first place anyway.

Also, Ravine on this forum got his GTS auto from Terry Shields like within the week from release and on the same week I know of another white GTS (can't remember if it was auto or manual) being delivered to another customer. So the first GTS at Terry Shields was not delivered last week.

Personally, I've just accepted that I won't be getting the car any time soon. And as I originally had planned I wanted to get a 2013 build date anyway, and it seems that this might just occur.

My only concern really is that my current car will need a fair whack of maintenance work including brakes, fluid leaks to fix, tyres etc... Which will just set me back a bit of coin. At least I have a juicy bonus and tax return to ease the pain

I am also occasionally popping into my dealer to see if I can scam any free stuff

hmmmmm when I went and ordered in March I was shown the dealers brochure (not publicly released) which had the GT/GTS differences to decide which spec to buy...

I meant at the time I was told i was second in the line. Regardless of what had been delivered, I was second at that point in time. But whatevs, what does it matter anyway

This is it, I had walk in my dealer today n canceled my order. No more waiting game for me, without the 86 I still can live... The customer service was sucks ever since I put my money down 3 months ago... Not to mention the sour taste in the mouth for the deletion of full size spare...

A lot of people are going to bail. I would. Lucky I ordered in march.

I was going to wait til the price came out, but decided not to as I sensed something like this might happen. Well I didn't think it would be this bad.

Still f*cken pissed off that ordering back in march wouldn't get me a car at launch date but rather 3 months later. What f*cken bullshit is that.

Toyota did it on purpose to free up stock for people to walk in and buy. Only enthusiasts will stick out the wait. So fuck them over Toyota why don't you. Ooops you already have.

The Toyota 86 - a car that is going to be delivered with an unknown date - even custom building a BMW doesn't take this long!

Good on you also Toyota for souring the experience of many who would have been a first time customer!

A first time customer of the 86 would probably have gone on to buy other Toyotas over the years and would result in many referrals had they received a positive experience - instead .... it looks like TMCA couldn't really give a toss - and frankly a 4.5 years wait is a JOKE.
