For any order that is not yet confirmed for production, it means the TMCA system does not have accurate information about when it will be built. Where the information is 'lost' ... I would like to know and ask for it to be corrected, so I can plan how I will be getting around.

It all depends on spec and colour.

I've been told I'm number one on the list at my Dealer for a White GTS Manual - the most popular colour, spec and transmission.

That sounds like great news, but I'm also number 40 nation wide for the same car.

They're bringing 7 of this particular car in each month, so despite being number one on the list at my dealer, I've gotta wait 6 months before my dealer gets that car...

*groan*

What's making it so much worse is that I sold my bike when I got a good offer thinking I could bus it til October... Now it's EASTER before I'm back on the road...

like some other members on this forum, i have also been assigned the TBC status after a phone call to TMCA. Only about two weeks ago I was told Nov build/ Dec delivery. Sure you've heard it all before, but like everyone else when I ordered was told it'd be sep/oct, then got pushed to nov/dec, now unknown, lol. Ordered GTS Manual June 16 (Sydney). I'm also supposedly first at my dealer with the guy before me taking delivery of his GTS a week or two ago. This is Terry Shields Parramatta.

over 4 month difference for orders that are right next to each other? Find that hard to accept actually. Sure enough TMCA are aware demand is high and supply is scarce in terms of production, but is TMCA even aware of the injustice Australian customers are being dealt in terms of allocation COMPARATIVELY to rest of the world? Read some posts about UK getting excess of cars for example. TMCA need to read these forums and really understand what their customers are actually thinking, maybe then it might spur them to take more aggressive action to resolve the matter.

I ordered a red GTS auto on 21 June. Since then I've not had any status updates from my dealer. After an month when I asked for a login to the status tracking website I was told they had no idea what that was, and "oh by the way, your order was bumped from Sep/Oct to Oct/Nov delivery.

Since then I've had no word from them. They haven't told me about the spare wheel delete.

My first Toyota purchase in 20 years of car purchasing is not what I call customer focused. Well done Toyota Chatswood, In the last few weeks I've told 2 family members to avoid Toyota and go to Mazda. They are now driving their new Mazda3's while I wait, watching grass grow in the desert.

Probably (mostly) the dealers lack of customer service, but you would think TMCA would do something sensible.... Like prioritise build to order, rather than some weird random algorithm that was probably spat out by a computer built in the 60's?

Roll on October when I ask about my order again. Not really worried, because I've still got the MX5 and will be keeping it, but was more concerned about the month it will be registered in. Worst month for rego is Dec or Jan when you are flat broke from paying off taxes, presents and parties.

I was told by my dealer on the phone the other day that out of 250 cars coming in each month, 40% are GTS and only 40% of that 40% are manuals. I find that difficult to believe but we do have to remember how small of a market we are.

I wouldve thought that by now they would've reconfigured the production split to something closer to the existing orders they have. It cant be that inflexible. the simple thing would be to say: Ok. We have 2000 orders locked in, 1500 are for manual GTS's, lets build according to the existing order split. Rather than blindly producing cars with no home. Just doesnt make sense and isnt in line with what I though Toyota's production principles are considering they are pioneers in JIT and reducing wastage.

Then again, this could be because its coming from a Subaru factory.

It's a bit upsetting when I have friends coming back from Europe telling me you can pretty much walk into a Toyota dealership and get any spec GT86 you want within a week or so. Im very surprised Toyota has done nothing about trying to fix the manual GTS supply problem here in Australia.

Again, with Europe (moreso UK) the demand is much lower, but they'd still be selling more cars than here, ever.

i dont understand how they can fail at this. popular sports car, starting price so low, good reviews around the world prior to coming to aus, long awaited toyota sports car since supra and mr2 etc, RWD. and the wait list is up to 2 years now for manual GTS? thats just silly. surely TMCA could've understood that manual would be the highly sought after model.

in addition, they could've released what's included in the base and top specs well before launch date so then people can make decisions on which grade to buy. i for one would've gotten top spec (regardless of price) with my original preorder (base model) SINCE FEBRUARY had i known the base model came without digital speedo and crappy centre console. but those details weren't released til june ish which was the deal breaker for me and then i reordered late june, get told sept build/oct delivery to which got pushed out to oct build, now nov build and possibly could even be dec or jan or feb or march or may or june or frigggin december 2013 BUILD. SO ANNOYED
