Since it's a low production unit, it will be made in Japan. The plants in Japan are capable in pumping out multiple vehicles at once (3-6 different ones per plant, and they can build a Crown next to a Estima w/o issue) while the US plants are specialized for specific vehicles. I think the newest plant they are building in the US will be able to be versatile like the most modern plants in Japan, but it's definitely not happening soon.

iirc when we did MkI vs MkII vote, didn't MkII win?

Hm... not sure bout the headlight shape. IDK either and can't guarantee anything.

Hm... that's gonna be hard, if they take away the vents near the hood, they gotta raise the front, so it doesn't look weird.

Over all, it's kinda funny to see how much thumbs down we're getting. It's kinda funny to see ppl are not figuring out why they're using MkII style for the test run. Now, these are my speculation.
  1. Since MkI had a bit of complain/feedback from the driver they had to modify the chassis/pillar and they fixed it w MkII
  2. Now, FR-S is shown, MkII became older model/concept. Which equal to use em as test car. Instead of welded parts together Impreza test car to figure how it actually drive.
  3. MkI had 2 different designs: regular NA ver & Turbo ver (g's). Where's MkII's second ver? (well I guess, that can be said for MkIII).
  4. Instead of using FiveAxis designed overdone FR-S as test car at the nur, it's reasonable to use MkII to finalize suspension/brake/engine/tranny/etc setup. Be honest here, MkIII looks awesome, but there's no way, that thing gonna be used as test car.
  5. Lastly, prob did it for hell of it.

^^Now you're showing us some clues. LOL
That could be like what you said because FT-86 II debuted in EU and this car is tested in EU. They probably use the very similar body to the final car to test the aerodynamic and what not.

+1

I really liked the Five Axis version a lot but we can't really expect too much of that concept to merge into the final production; wide body fenders, lood and door lines, hood vents, side skirts, lower fender ducts, flat trunk etc.

It seemed like a joint effort between the 2 and thats it.

My vote goes for FRS. I like the body likes but not intrigued by the vents.

Actually, i jus looked at the poll again. And the Mk1 has almost 3 times more votes than the MkII (23 to 8). For your convenience, here's the link: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/poll....ults&pollid=58.

But the MkI has nothing to do with this. My point is that the mule looks like the MkII (which everyone would agree on) when I wished it looked like the FRS (which has 76 votes btw).

No, there was a pole before this one with just the MKI and MKII. The MKII had more votes by a decent margin.
