So we just saw a prototype that resembles the MKII model.

MKI debuted at TAS. (Japan)
MKII debuted at GAS. (Europe)
FRS debuted at NYAS. (USA)

Maybe the prototype was made for the Europeans? (Complies with EU which wee see in the hood level)
Maybe we will see a derivative from the FRS concept? (Different automotive laws so we could get the low hood)
Why would they show us the FRS and give us the MKII?

The point of this post is that there could be a US only model of the FRS and everyone else will get the MKII body style!

Both model will share the same platform but we will get the edgy, risky lines of the FRS :happyanim:

But why would Toyota produce two different body styles for the same car it would cost too much money

Exactly. Doesn't make sense from a financial point of view.

I believe it's already been discussed that the FRS that debuted in New York was a joint effort with 5 Axis and Toyota to show how the MKII will look like from a tuners perspective.

The prototype that Hachi posted is more than likely the actual model that we'll be seeing soon.

On the other hand the mule we're seeing could possibly be the subie version instead of the Toyota/SCION version so there is some hope:thumbup: but considering that the license plate resembles many of Toyota's past mule cars plates it may also be hopeless:thumbdown:

Honda did it with the civic.

Production numbers for a econobox Civic don't compare on scale to a sports coupe.

Everyone raved about the MKII when it came out, so can Toyota really keep up with our demands? The MKIII would be a totally different car, given it's body style.

Not sure I would say everyone raved about the Mk2. There were many that liked the Mk1 better (and still do).

Yup, but it was mostly because the car wasn't "plain enough" or "clean". I don't even know how people can judge this car with all the camo on it.

Yeah I agree. I personally like the Mk1 better than the Mk2. But if the Mk2 is what Toyota/Subaru decides to offer at low to mid $20k range, with 170-200hp, fun to drive, great gas mileage, LSD, nice interior, great handling...etc. I would still buy it. Sure the looks could be better, but at this point they are good enough for me for a car this price.

:word: I want something that will look sleek like the Z, but if it was 10K less, then I could settle for this as well.
