I'll be keeping a eye on this but I find it hard to believe that another company is going to out do - 1. AVO - long time makers of bolt-up turbo kits for subies , 2. P&L - a shop who makes amazing staged subie turbo kits for the normal guy or racer - also has the fastest subie in north America , 3. Accelerated Performance - experts on going fast - also home of fastest Supra in the world...
From what you told me you going to use a turbo no one has used before and it's better? AVO hasn't even announced what they're using yet. I'm sorry there's only so many ways to make a turbo kit ... John |

Like I said, this is a NEW turbo design being used. Not saying it will be better, just different. We will not release any product until we have tested everything. Also, this is a joint effort from Toyota and Subaru, seems like open season to us for a new idea.

Not exactly. But I had seen this at SEMA and it made me drool. We are not using this turbo, but mostly because we hadn't remembered to put it on our design board.
But here is what I Can tell you.... Ball bearing...check Lighter and stronger turbine...check (nowhere near that light though) No integrated wastegate or BOV....but they will be included in the kit if you wish. |

Realistically, no one is going to afford 6000$ turbo kit. Some where around 3500$ or less should be a perfect price range for everyone to afford.
Maybe have options like interchangeable larger turbo setup, similar to gt30r and 35r kit. Also many people in frs/brz arent looking for high hp. Just enough to get by. I believe 40-60 hp in a small size turbo with fast response will be perfect.

Kudos to you guys for developing something. I'm all for multiple options. I've been following all of Accelerated Performance threads, and think a turbo is in my future.
Just one suggestion... Make a CARB certified version for those of us in CA. I'm okay paying a little more for a CARB certified kit, which I'm not seeing in the other kits. I realize this is only a CA issue, so I wouldn't expect others to pay for our extra fees. |

With our plan of keeping the warranty and drivability we hope to be able to easily make CARB issues non existent. They have already approved the turbo design so that is a step in the right direction.

Won't be any power train warranty with an aftermarket turbo kit, carb approval would cost so much the price would go beyond what people want to spend.

From what our local dealership has told us; as long as we don't alter the engine and ecu, warranty will stay intact. On the only condition that it can be returned to stock if a warranty issue arises.
So no internals, no harness cutting, no ecu soldering, etc. We plan to keep this throughout the campaign as the number one rule. And to answer, CARB has approved this turbo design for another project we completed. So the CARB approval shouldn't be too hard for this one. Couple things are different, but the emissions change should be minimal and gas mileage may improve *fingers crossed lol* |
