Sure you could get lucky and find one suddenly available locally that someone else flaked on, AND maybe it will be available at MSRP, but I took the "conservative" bet, I wasn't in a super rush anyways. If I was in a rush to get one, I probably would have just bought a FR-S, they are far easier to come by.
I'll second this statement.. Heuberger has been pretty good with my blind purchase.. Car will be on a truck Monday en-route to my porch. About a month from first inquiry to signing paperwork

Can anyone refer me dealerships that don't add on unwanted accessories/mark-up, other than City and One Scion. I'm going to contact them regardless if they have one in stock or not...

Thanks

Edit:

SF Scion has a Whiteout A/T no plates on bumper. Not currently for sale...probably getting some "stuff" installed.

If you checked the "used" section at SF Scion, you'll see MY raven black AT for sale. That's my car where the motor blew out...they rebuilt it and are selling it as an used car, but notice the price is as if new.

Wow. That is pretty shady of them. What happened to the engine / how did it blow?

Technician told me that a bolt from the steering wheel shot into the motor and shredded the entire thing when I was driving. Pretty nuts...still haven't got my replacement car yet either.

That's pretty insane. That must have made a horrible sound. How many miles did you have on it?

Had the car for only 24 hours, put 100 miles on it. To and back from work and then RIP for the FRS.

Glad to hear they didn't just try to shuv the fixed car on you but are going to replace it. Now I guess the wait begins for the replacement? I am on a wait list at SF Toyota as well. I heard somewhere in between 2-3 months? I'm wanting a whiteout though.

I saw that car...with the shark fin antennae. Did not know that it had an unfortunate history. But thanks, that's good to know especially if someone was planning to buy it, who browses the forum,

Astrobeez - supposedly four FRS's are coming in tomorrow, I'd give them a call if you are ready to buy. The manager also has a whiteout AT for sale with 3000 miles on it if your interested, that just went up on sale on Saturday and it looks like it's still there.

Veloist - Yeah, supposedly the car runs smooth now with the new motor, but obviously its a "used" car because of my situation. Wonder what they would say if you went there in person and asked why its used?

.
Just for future buyers, as of 8/27/12 the following sell at MSRP:

City Toyota Scion, Daly City, CA (upon availability or wait list)
Merced Toyota Scion, Merced, CA (upon availability or wait list)
Chuck Patterson Scion, Chico, CA (upon availability, unsure about wait list)
Scion Vacaville, Vacaville, CA (pre-order deposit and wait list only)
One Scion of Oakland, Oakland, CA (Wait list and deposit)
Melody Scion, San Bruno, CA (wait list only)

I've been calling dealerships all around NorCal and these are the ones that have confirmed they sell at MSRP, and are also backed up by testimonials on the thread.

My wait will be over soon. The truck will pick up the car this Thur/fri and deliver next Tue. The driving is only 2 days as you know but I guess they may have some other shipment to pick up or deliver in some other cities. Technically, the car is mine now, sitting in a showroom a few states away for another few more days.

I like to peek in on Heuberger's site from time to time to see what they have coming... right now as of this posting they have two BRZ's in transit that are available, one WRB Limited and one GBS Premium. The Premium must have some accessories on it because its MSRP is almost as much as the Limited. As before though I am sure they will be selling these without markup. So if you are interested and contact them, ask for Karen in the Internet dept and tell them PMok sent you ... I dunno with all the business I am referring to them maybe they will treat me even nicer and throw a hat or something in with my car.
