Oh, and a tip for listening to these thumb drives with the stock stereo - If you press the "random" key once it plays through whichever folder you're current song is in randomly, but if you have a lot of different folders and you want it to play randomly through all of your music HOLD the "random" button (I think its the #5 button) until you hear a beep and a USB drive icon will show up on the display and it will play randomly through the entire USB stick.

So I have one of these in a 8gb

There is a real good article about Micro usb's here http://www.squidoo.com/mini-usb-drives

The other day Half of my files disappeared, so I formatted the little bugger and decided to go with less sub folders, I update if it implodes. For 8.00 @ Wally World no big deal, just time.

well, i found a USB drive that the car does not see.

This Kingson DT 108 (8 GBs) does not connect:

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-DataTraveler-Flash-DT108-16GBZ/dp/B005755U3U"]http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-DataTraveler-Flash-DT108-16GBZ/dp/B005755U3U[/ame]

I get a 'BTA does not connect' something or other message.

Sounds like you need to press the usb/bta button. I got this too and its starts off in bta mode (blue tooth adapter) press the button on the stereo one more time and it switches over to usb then you should be in business

The issue I have with this setup is if you have several songs that are duplicated in multiple playlists, you're eating a lot of space up.

Would be nice if there was a simple open source way to create playlists out of a list of the same files.

Then again I guess this is what owning an iPod is for.

Apple doesn't have the patent on simplicity. I've used this many, many times, works great!

I assume you're talking about the FRS. Which is the random key? I have the upgraded Bespoke and didn't see it.

I have the same one in 32gb. I have big fingers, and I wanted to have enough of the drive sticking out to grab. A lot of these very small USB devices have a 'barbed' USB port that makes them very difficult to remove, so I didn't really want to go with the practically invisible ones.

How do you change the settings for how the head unit reads the files on the USB input? I can't find it anywhere... Do you have the base head unit?
