Cool, Tiny USB Stick
I picked up this micro sized 16Gb usb stick to keep my music plugged into the FR-S Usb port. Its a bit overkill but at $12 i couldn't resist. Its the "LaCie MosKeyto" I like it, its tiny and you can't even tell its plugged in. I put it next to a dime to give you some perspective. :w00t:

Wait whatt??? Can you control the music using the LCD? How about playlist? This is better than having an iPod if thats the case. Small discrete device for under $15. Win!

Yep, I've got a USB stick that I have my tunes on.
I tried using my 32GB MicroSD plugged into one of these: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/elago-Mobile-microSDHC-Memory-Reader/dp/B002HGFKR8"]Amazon.com: elago Mobile Nano II USB 2.0 microSDHC Flash Memory Card Reader (Black): Electronics[/ame] but the headunit doesn't recognize it. I plugged the same SD into one of those bigger SD -> USB adapters and it worked fine, so the headunit definitely works with the 32GB Sandisk MicroSD, but it doesn't like the Elago for some reason. Anyone else have any luck with it? |
I picked up one of these from Wally Worldhttp://www.walmart.com/ip/HP-8GB-v16...Drive/15913494

I saw that at bestbuy and was like... "where's the rest of it" haha I'm hesitant on picking one up just because it looks so easy to lose. Great Price though

The thing is tiny i'm sure i'll loose it. But i have it structured as such: I have a folder called music, then inside of it i have sub folders (r&b, rap, dance, etc) While adding music to those sub folders i arranged the songs in the order i wanted them and it seems to be working. When i plug it in my songs are just as i arranged them. Its a work around to creating a playlist. Not sure if i can do it on the cars head unit. I've only had my FR-S 3 days lol!!

Wow, would you mind pluging it into a windows 7 computer and see if it'll work as a readyboost drive?
|
Hm... I might go and get one of these. The iPod is too big and uses wires.
This is non noticeable hence no motives for thieves to break in |

i was thinking about giving one of those a try. there is no good place to hide my ipod. unplugging it everytime i get out of the car is getting annoying.
|
Worth it. No one can tell it's there, so no reason to break into your car like there would be with an iPod or MP3 player.

Where did you get it so cheap?

I grabbed one of these: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/ADATA-Classic-Series-Flash-AC008-32G-RKD/dp/B0040HI8FI/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1345454981&sr=8-17&keywords=adata+usb+flash+drive"]Amazon.com: ADATA Classic Series C008 32 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive AC008-32G-RKD (Black): Electronics[/ame]
It looks nice and red/black to go with the car - I don't mind having a USB flash drive visible - they're dirt cheap anyways lol. Everything works real nicely, you can have folders and everything. Problem is I have 7gb's of files and some of them aren't written properly apparntly .. so I need to 'refresh' the file's details (the name and artist) because the stock header says NO NAME/NO TITLE -_-; This occurs roughly 10% of the songs I have .. yeah its a big share :/ |
