Really random failure, glad you have it sorted. After many years of working on Toyota products there's little chance of it being anything else too major, there just too damn reliable!

Was it a cold day when it stopped working? Cracking usually happens from thermal/physical shock rather than a electrical fault
Just happy it's all sorted now
I'm glad it was minor.. well I finished work late and it was a freezing night (near beach area) and most mornings when I start its cold so gradual impact of fuses being warmed in the cold?
Probably, oh well glad we figured it.

Yeah thermal shock was my train of thought
I had some fuses snap on me after a really cold night. Not usual, but it happens from time to time.
Just out of curiosity, are they small blade fuses or larger ones
From the pics they look small (I hate the small ones lol)

Yepp ESP if too close together
What I love about my 96 323 is that there is fuse remover tool embedded in to the fuse box cover (embedded but removable)
Oh the little things :p

Small blade fuses.. buuuut there's an embedded tool in the engine fuse box as you mentioned the 323 having. Tweezer like tool.. and comes with spare fuses as well..
But yeah the fuses are close in the inside fuse panel.. had to lie down on my back look up into the box and figure out which one I had to take out.. but was ok

Win
I wasn't sure if every car company did it or not
Yeah it looks like tweezers
That's awesome man shame about the upside down box, but I suppose everything is getting more and more cramped!
