You have 3 options

1- For the perfect look would be Front 18x8 +48, Rear 18x8 +35

2- 18x8 +35 all around is easer if you rotating the wheels in the future, and could be better in handling

3- 18x8 +48 all around for safer fitment

Hindsight, I would have got 35, as Norcalscionchamp's setup looks wicked.

Hopefully I didn't thread jack too much!
Just install what you have and if anything get a 10 or 15mm spacer for the back you really won't need it for the front.

Researching a bit more, a more aggressive offset adds stress to wheel bearings and increases performance by widening the stance. I guess for my purposes, et45 is appropriate. If I hate it, I'll probably get the spacers, I think Eibach makes high end ones. Any recommendations on spacers?

Ichiba or Project Kics, H&R if they make some.

the problem with running same offset AND width front and rear is taht the fronts will always poke further out than the rear (I suppose Subaru/Toyota wanted to fit the boxer engine in there, so they spaced it out).

You can easily see this on the car stock. If you want to preserve the stock balance that's cool, but if you're looking for stance, you can either run different offsets front/rear or run a wider rear.

That's why I made my suggestion based on the wheel options given.

I was looking at this, which is a 18x8et45, not flush but looks pretty nice IMO:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5749

Is this what I should expect with 45? If so, seems acceptable to me.

Obviously that is lowered, but yes.

A +35 would stick out 10mm more than that on an 8" wide wheel.

they arent made in the "right offset".
most single piece wheels are made in certain offsets because they will fit a whole slew of cars... not vehicle specific.

For those who wants to run wider wheels with same offset all around, i'm sure later there will be an aftermarket front wider finders.

According to the wheel offset chart, 8" wheel at stock height is flush in front at +38, so a +35 would poke a bit. After a 1" drop, +36 offset would be flush. So a +35 is a bit aggressive for the front.

+48 in front and +35 in back should be nice, but I'm not sure the difference is worth not being able to do an easy rotate.

It depends on your alignment settings, ride height and tire width.

In other words.. It depends on who you ask. It's another "art" or personal taste vs "correct" or exact.

For instance Volk recommended a slight variation to this forum's wheel fitment thread.

Best of luck!

So you can still rotate the tires

Without a doubt +35. Even that has room to spare.

But whatever you decide to do, keep the same offset in the front and rear. Flush rears with sunken fronts is YUCKY.

BTW, what in the world makes +48 "the safer choice?" +35 isn't even flush, especially when lowered.

Actually +38 is flush in front (at stock height), so +35 pokes. With a 1" drop, +36 is flush in front, so again, +35 is very slightly over flush.
