Wheel experts - which will fit better?
SLIGHT difference - BUT
Which one will be the better fit out of these (Going for the more fitted look and aggressive spokes) Enkei GTC01 18x8 +48 (in the picture, leaning towards getting these) OR Enkei GTC01 18x8 +35 OR Enkei GTC01 18x7.5 +48 going all round same width, don't want it staggered Some visuals from le google http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...47156199_o.jpg |
Personally I'd go for +48 18x8.
I'm going that route with Ultraleggeras - they'll be near flush at the front with a slight (20mm) drop, not too far inboard at the rear, keeps the unsprung weight near where it was originally, and 8" gives me the ability to have tyres I want "stand up" a little more. My 2c worth |

Defiantly 18x8 +35, why would you want to run +48 when the +35 would fit with room to go.

Definitely 18x8 +35.
The +48 fitments are safer, but they'll sit too far "in" (closer to the car). You might end up a little disappointed with the appearance of the +48 fitments. |
Question, for a 1 3/4 drop, would 18x8e45 fit properly (close to flush)? It seems like consensus for drop is 35 offset. The difference is .4". As far as performance, what difference is there with the offset?
What are your thoughts on a spacer to change the 45 to a 35? |

Why buy a spacer to get an offset you want when the manufacturer makes the right offset. I have 18x9 +30 and these aren't that aggressive. Just go +35 and be done with it.

Thanks guys. Yeah, running KW coilovers... I have the wheels shipping with a 45 offset, wish I asked you guys first.
My choices are: sell/return the 45 and buy 35, install as is, or install with spacers. Almost want to keep the 45 for front and 35 for rears. Sounds like whichever way I go, there is no change in performance, just flush appearance. At this point, might be prudent for me to keep 45 and run spacers. Hmmm... |
You know, I think I'm worrying too much about .4". Looking at the stickies, 45 looks fine (not perfect) on lowered cars.
And as far as spacers go, sounds like there is a small chance of failure, which is probably unlikely, but not going to take the chance. Hindsight, I would have got 35, as Norcalscionchamp's setup looks wicked. Hopefully I didn't thread jack too much! |
