I think it might have previewed the IS, but at this stage I can't remember. I have always loved the trick roof though, and it really ought to make production someday. It'd be criminal to leave that in the concept realm.

Damn, what a waste of a concept then!

The IS is not made for us tall folks! I'm a little over 6'1 and I have to move the seat all the way down and far back. Nobody can sit behind me and feel a bit confortable. I usually hit my knees on the steering column and the IS has a huge blind spot in the rear and sides. Feels like I'm sitting in a tank!

It's not a waste of concept since the current IS sells really well. LOL

And yeah I always feel like driving in a tank. Luckily, I'm not tall enough to push the seat all the way back.

What I meant was the LF-C looks like an entire new model so if that eventually became the IS-C, the LF-C concept was a waste or this case a tease.

I wasn't loc'in it either, just trying to sit comfortable. What I noticed was that the rear pillars are wide that it increases the blind spot and the distance from the rear seat to the top of the window is marginal. I had to do a triple check just to change a lane.

That's what I always do tho. You will get used to it, but yeah, it's annoying sometimes.

No point for them to make it bigger. This is the trap that manufacturer make for themselves. They seem to make next generation of car for the current gen owners new needs. What they should be doing is more closely designing the whole lineup together (not necessarily all at once) so that there is a 'purchase path' or 'ladder' for their customers. Example IS owners should become GS owners, ES owners should become LS owners. Not make the IS more and more GS-like with new gens to keep the customers.

3000+lbs Civic Si coupe is a horrible example of this.
Neveer said they should make it bigger. I'm just saying I doubt they'd make it smaller. The issue is it already has less rear seat room than a 3 series or A4, so yeah.... not likely. I personally don't find it cramped, but I'm not an "overweight american" #topgearlowblow j... j/k

Oh, and the ES is closer in size to the GS actually. I tend to think of Lexus' line up more like

ES, LS = mid Lux, big lux and IS, GS = Small sport mid sport

Make it happen Lexus. I think this is one Toyota where no one would complain if you shared it's genes.
Did I mention lose the rear seats?
