the lexus version: your wish list
you remember those stories about how the lexus version would be stretched out and made a 4-door?... do not want!
if lexus does do a version, i hope that instead of adding two doors and a bunch of weight, they add two cylinders to give it a flat 6 engine, and make a car that can beat porsche that's my ONLY wish lol what's yours? |

Or how about a 2GR-FSE tuned for high revs?
If there ever comes a Lexus (I doubt it) I would just want a nicer interior with higher quality materials and a more powerful engine. |

Yeah, there have been rumors that Toyota would use the FT-86 platform to base a sedan, convertible, and Lexus version. I LOVE Lexus interiors, but for a sporty car, I might go aftermarket. A flat 6 would be nice though.

I didn't realize Lexus is now racing for Toyota. That would be interesting if they made their own version. Use some carbon fiber and aluminum in the body/structure of the Lexus for lower weight along with a 2GR-FSE would make for a nice car. It just seems hard to believe there would be a Scion, Toyota and Lexus version. I guess it is possible but I don't know it is that likely. |

Given the car is designed around a 4 cylinder boxer engine, with the hood as low as possible, why do you all think an inline 6 would even fit in the engine bay?

Who said anything about an inline 6? They said flat 6. BTW guys there were no rumors of a Lexus version. There was a rumor by best car mag that they might use the same platform for a next gen is. That's a big difference. Wishful thinking on best car's part. For years they claimed a 4 door sedan based on the s2000 platform was in the works, so take what they say with a big grain of salt.

I would think, the way it is today, that the Lexus version would be a high reving turbo car, and hopefully not a overweight 4 door like stated previously

I hardly think the IS will be based on the FT-86 anymore considering the LF-Gh concept - besides being the basis for the GS probably, the concept is also about the design direction for the brand, based off that the IS probably wont be getting the ft-86 treatment, however since it is the LFA young brother...it might get styling cues from that instead. When Lexus comes back with a coupe i see that as being an off shoot of the LFA if anything.

actually, i kinda see some design cues from the LFA in the FRS
Anyway, the LF-Gh looks like clunky and overweight in my humble opinion, it would be great to keep the same design language across the LFA, the next-gen IS, and the FRS, giving buyers an option at all three markets ps toyota, call me and give me a strategy job lol thx! Quote:

Toyota, Scion, Lexus has only one chief design even though they have many design facilities, so a Scion has some curve from Lexus is not surprising. For now, I hope Lexus takes 400 lb off from the current IS to get to 3000lb. Current IS is very heavy and soulless for a small car.

Audi! Audis look amazing, much better than BMW/Benz IMO. Although they have dismal reliability I hear.
