You show me an aluminized system that'll last 3 years, and I'll show you a religious zealot that believes in same-sex marriage

On another note, the custom exhaust on my last car lasted me the 9 years I owned it, and considering that from cat to tip it cost me less than $450, I'm fairly positive it was NOT made of some gourmet steel.

Exactly. We're (At least some of us) not dealing with racecars that run blazing EGTs. We're dealing with light-to-mild modded cars that can make do with "good enough" when it comes to something like this.

Well... it sounds like what I would imagine an American Thunder exhaust would sound like on a Subaru boxer

300-series (304, 316L, 321) have much better corrosion resistance than 400-series.
this is true but it also gets brittle much quicker than a 409 stainless , which is why you see more companies using a 400 series stainless. its common knowledge that 409 series stainless will typically last the life of the car and not crack like 300 series material can due to constant heat cycling

Then why does aftermarket use 300 series despite it costing more?

it hardly sounded like crap.. Actually I think it sounds quite nice and sound is completely subjective!

As for the 300 stainless, most companies are using 400 series and only a few are running 304 and charge a boatload of $$ for it because its marketed as "aircraft quality" or whatever.. technically it is a better grade of stainless in terms of quality, but for exhaust applications in general its overkill for the most part

They did not, but Flowmaster typically doesn't list gains, far as I can tell at least.

Same with weight. Probably won't see that until someone puts it on a scale.
