Bit of an update during my alignment with div88 he was telling me my rear toe arms were a pain to work with so I used that as an excuse to order SPL rear toe arms
they will sit in the box till closer to the new year when I get my next alignment done.I also went ahead and did my 3rd oil analysis which consisted of my two UK road trip and the drive there and back. All came back fine as you would hope to expect from basically new oil. And finally my car has passed its first NCT with me as its owner NCT is what Ireland uses for road inspection and unlike in the states its pretty serious and failures are common. I mean sure I know my car is fine but now so does the Irish government lol

Wednesday was probably my last track day of the year and it was a good one ! I set a new personal best and lap record for a stock power 86. Oh and get what is now my new favorite photo of the 86
Things to note I finally broke hard enough to get some proper heat into the front brakes. Those temp stickers that never moved have nearly maxed out in the front... The rears still don't register ha. Comparing my previous 2:05.4 to 2:03.5 it's clear I am using a more brake pressure everywhere especially into T1 and the last corner. So Braking harder and later. I am not sure if the tires just needed a heat cycle or if I needed to step up my game to maximum gains from the Potenza race tires but I had loads of confidence Wednesday and was putting down 2:05s with ease and 2:04s without much struggle. Colder track temps I am sure played in my favor I was definitely pushing to get that 2:03.5 but the data shows a 2:02.9 was possible and honestly once I did the 2:03.5 I started my cool down lap and then rain came so who knows how much faster I could have gone. At least now I have a good reference lap to build on for next year as I shoot for 2:02s. Will need power mods if I ever want to go sub 2s for sure The 0.5L overfill which worked well at Donington/Oulton Park also helped at Mondello Park. So for my grip level and speed I am not seeing a need for a baffle or pickup mod. In stock form with PS4 tires the best I did was a 2:07.9 and now with upgraded wheels tires and suspension I am doing 2:03.5 both done in similar weather conditions.

Really solid lap!
Glad to see the oil pressure improved even with the "high" oil temps!

With my off season sorta coming to a close and my UK 2025 track days booked I figured it's time to update the thread
![]() Back in December I installed a Aim MXS Strada digital dash. I have always wanted one and finally convinced myself to get one under the pretence that having alarms for things like oil pressure was mandatory on track ![]() Total overkill but I do enjoy finally getting to see my temps and pressure when I am driving on the street. Previously I only saw these on track as I didn't leave the solo 2 in the car... Plus alarms! ha Install was pretty simple Can bus data come from OBD2 port power from the fuse box and ground from the nut that holds on the fuse box. I haven't used the display on track yet but on the street it has been great. Not a single issue and puts a smile on my face. My first track day of 2025 will be in April at Mondello so come March I will doing my normal Trans/Diff/Brake/Engine oil change plus coolant for the first time since my ownership and probably since the car was new. Also have the alignment and corner weight checked at Division88. 2025 will also be my first time at Anglesey and my first time driving the 86 in a competition via a Javelin Sprint event. I will also be returning to Oulton Park and Donington. Planned upgrades for the year are a BBK and A052s for my UK track days.

First track day of 2025 in the books. Had a pretty good morning session was a lot of fun dealing with the traffic... The afternoon not so much unfortunately my friend who was driving the car in the afternoon had an off so I never got back on track. All the damage is being repaired and I hope to be back on track for the circuit social on April 2nd
I did manage to get a somewhat entertaining video of me chasing down a buggy 350z and s2000 so enjoy ![]()

The car had its first alignment of the year and installed some SPL toe arms as well.
Mechanically everything checked out after the off just needed an inner/outer tie rod. Full body repair will happen towards the end of the month. I was able to make the April 2nd track day and all went well enough. Managed to match/slightly beat my current personal best. I have one more track day on the 21 before the car goes down for the body work. Also planning to order a Brembo bbk from godspeed along with hardrace control arms and the Jacksonracing anti dive kit. So another alignment/install incoming before my UK trackdays

Took a little advantage of a trip to the states to bring back some parts
When the car was getting aligned last he noted that the front control arm bushings were starting to go.... So seeing as I was ordering new control arms might as well get the anti dive kit from jackson racing haha. Was getting time to replace my 949racing lug nuts so ordered a fresh set. Its 100bucks cheaper to get them in the US vs Ireland ![]() The 3d printed part was done my friend and fellow ft86club member much easier for him being in the US to ship to a US address plus no issues with customs! It's a bracket for my AIM MXS strada. He printed one in purple as well I am using as a test. I got a new steering column hood as well which I will be using with the black one you see in the photo And the tiny piece of metal is to fix the bumper sag. I got that along with the revised plastic bumper/fender clips. The car has been dropped off to the body shop to repair the damage so might as well finally fix the bumper sag. This part is actually from Australia though haha

Highlights from the trackdays.ie action day. Traffic and weather was crazy! I don't think I ever got a full 20 mins in the dry... Was raining off and on while on track all day. One session got so bad towards the end everyone came in and a few mins later it started to hail. Of course then the sun comes back out 5 mins later haha.
Traffic in our group was pretty bad as you will see. I think we got a lot of first timer mostly car show people so they had zero clue. I guess we all have to start somewhere but I would be shocked to see them again lol
