Meh, I run an antivirus app that gets updated every week and use a VPN for my Android phone. Usually individuals aren't targeted except as a means to target their employer because most of us don't have the kind of money or information bad actors with actual means are looking for. Now, if you are dumb enough to click a phishing link and allow permissions that's a different story because then it's easy on the technical side.

Basically, OS updates are nice for defense in depth, but not strictly necessary.

I have a 6a and the battery life is not great. It see's hardly any use during the day(day to day I am primarily on my work phone) and usually is down to 20% by 8pm after being charged every night. If I watch videos on youtube, we are talking down to 20% in a few hours. Otherwise it is alright.

Had a Samsung. It worked, kind of. Hated all the OEM and Verizon add on bloat.
Don't think I'd do that again. Newest phone is unlocked with fewer bloat floaters.

My 6a has been great. Last 2 long sessions: 59h 40m 95-37% screen on 3h 2m, 45h 18m 88-13% screen on 6h 27m.

Strange, mine is not even 6 months old. I show since I unplugged it 5 1/2 hours ago about 8 minutes of app usage and it's currently at 89%.

I pre ordered mine to take advantage of the high trade in price for my 4a 5g.

I am kind of curious about your charging. Do you use a quick charger or slow? I tend to prefer slower chargers to reduce heat in the battery.

Looks like both my chargers are 15watt.

If at 5V that's 3A. I think I still use 1A chargers. Does your phone get noticably hot when charging?

My P 6a was charged to 100% this morning about 10. I used it for some kindle reading over lunch, maybe 1/2 hour or so.
Right now the battery is reading 99%.
Only goes down to about 70% or so over 2 or 3 days if I don't use it at all.
I make sure EVERYTHING I can turn off is turned off though.
When I finish using it I bump all the stuff I've used out of the loaded apps screen ( lower right ).

Might have something wrong with the battery though. Should see if it's still under warranty.

Haven't paid attention. I usually plug it in before bed.

I should probably check and see.

I learned the Delicious Tuning software doesn't work on my new phone. Won't connect. Now I can't see my fuel pressure or E85%.

Don't. Unless it needs it. Short cycling shortens battery life.

Right now my iPhone and I get along well. I works. It does what I want 99.9% of the time. I wake up and use it. Just before I go bed it tells me it has 10% power left and would like to be charged. So I charge it. Lather Rinse Repeat.

You know, my biggest beef with it is fuckin autocorrect. Bitch is a fuckin prude. If I want to say Fuck, i want to say Fuck - not duck, or truck, or cluck. It’s a nanny from The Good Place. Fuck! Yeah - that’s right asshole - Fuck

But I can live with that. My android phones used to look for ways to annoy me. This thing doesn’t … yet.

I noticed that my Pixel 6 has an adaptive charging feature, so if you plug it in with an alarm set, the phone will charge at a speed where it will get to 100% when the alarm goes off. It's probably a pretty good feature for battery longevity.
