Ended up throwing the OEM catback back on, much better. Still has a surprising amount of volume outside the car, but no more drone in the car! Great success!

Indeed stock everything after the header is "droneless".

I went with a resonated/catted (cat is from an STI,supposed to high flow) Front pipe and JDM quad exhaust.
Note that i wrapped the front pipe as i didn't like the heat radiating from it into the cabin during the summer days.

And changed all hangers (5 of them).

It was all done in increments.LOL.

First was header (EL and wrapped) then front pipe followed by wrapping FP then quad exhaust and finally hangers.

In this way i was able to experience the changes and was genuinely surprised by the effect of the hangers.

There was some drone after i added the TRD quad exhaust, around the 2-2.5k rpm when cruising and then I fitted the hangers.
And the drone disappeared, almost.

The reverberations from the exhaust into the cabin also disappeared. (read as less boomy)

And no it was not a psychological change.

I kept everything standard OEM from the mid-pipe to the back.. Fruity when pushed otherwise it's pretty quiet.

JDL header thread is hovering around this one but figured I'd link to my post for anyone curious. I have little to no rasp with this setup. And essentially zero drone. Slightly boomy on startup but otherwise very tame.

I ran a punched out OEM header with this same setup and noticed more drone to the point I couldn't drive with the windows down without headaches and ear pain.
