I am swallowing a bit of pride here, but I got the amp working this morning. I was adjusting my suspension last night and the door speakers started to work intermittently when we took the car for a test drive. I removed the camera power wire this morning and it was working properly after that.
Obviously, I had a short in the camera that was causing my issue. So the good news is that I don't have to rush into the audio upgrade. The bad news is that I'll have to figure out what happened to the camera and decide if it's salvageable.
I guess the moral of the story is to not assume that my work was faultless.

Sounds like a bad ground.

I thought the same thing. But after checking my 2aug ground, it was good. I found a headphoone to rca cable and connected it to my cell phone and amp. I hook my door speakers up correctly, the work. I figured out the pre out on my deck does not work. I spliced onto the small amps stock input, and converted it to rca, now it all works. Not how I was planning on hooking it up.... Lanzar 6.5 midbass drivers in the doors, 4" lanzars in cash, a 4 channel poweracoustic amp hooked to the doors, and an old Pioneer 5.25 inch powered sub. Sounds better than I thought... Sorry for thread jacking ...

Turns out I had the same problem with my door speakers. I ended up bypassing the amp since clearly it was a blown out POS. FYI: all my connections were intact, all my fuses was intact. Factory amp was the problem.

I'm also not used to more than 4 speakers in a car. Hoping it won't be too hard to amp some speakers and still have everything sound good. I'm not even sure if there's even a crossover for the dash speakers I'm gonna lurk the electronics forum for a few weeks.

So you're running the dash speakers and the rears on the HU? So I guess you'll run RCAs to an amp to power the doors? Just learning here
From what I had gathered from other posts on the forums is that the factory dash speakers have a built in crossover. Don't quote me on that if it's true. However, I've installed aftermarket Alpine 4" speakers.

As far as I'm concerned with my aftermarket HU there are RCA's for amp. However, since the car has outputs for eh factory amp to run the door speakers, So I'm just going to use those outputs and replace my amp with an Alpine thanks to zdr93523 post listed here:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42239

I don't plan to install a separate amp for my speakers but will install a separate amp once I decide to get a sub, at this point I would probably use the RCA's.

So turns out after I installed the Alpine amp I'm getting some feed/hissing. After I did some troubleshooting, I thought it was from the amp but it isn't. Obviously when I increase the gain from the amp the hissing noise is louder which sucks because I was hoping the gain would just make my speaker bump more. So turn out the brand new aviv-8000nex is a piece of shit. For some reason the front speaker feeds produce a hissing sound to the speakers. I tried grounding the HU wires to actual chassis but no luck. I even went as far as adding some resistors which helped a mili-bit. I guess after looking at forums, they weren't kidding about pioneer head units (beware). If you might know something I don't know or if anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it!

My "AMP" 15 amp fuse was blown when i got my new 2014. I was wondering why it didnt sound right. I put the spare in and replaced the spare with a new fuse from autozone. Thanks for the post, it was how i figured the issue out. The speakers in the door now work and sound great.

In all honesty I thought I was going crazy. Just bought my 2015 BRZ a week ago, and had no sound in the door speakers. Had them in the front and back though. I checked the amp fuses under the hood and they where perfect, didn't realize there was one more under the drivers dash.

Thanks man!
