Discount Tire Direct often runs sales, and promotions when you use their credit card. They also had a rebate available on yokohama last week(end) and Tire Rack did not.

What are you guys liking for ride height? Didn't see it discussed in this thread, so thought I'd bring it up. I know it's not that important for STX, but I'm always curious what other people are doing now.

More than most here, as I recall I'm at 350mm hub to fender. But, I have very little evidence on if that's good or bad.

I’m at the low end of 949s suggested ride heights last I checked, 7mm of rake, maybe less, haven’t checked in a few months.

When I brought it out in 2020, it was a good 1" to 1.25" lower than Ray's (now Eric's) car. I raised it either .5" or .75" last year and it is better. I might raise it some more, just because the exhaust frequently scrapes. |

That's a pretty mild drop. Mine is currently 13" (330mm) measured the same way. This is the lowest I ever go though because I don't want to run into bump steer and scraping issues. It equals about a 1 finger wheel gap which I think looks the best aesthetically too. I was just curious because it seems like ride heights vary drastically for STX drivers. I guess at the end of the day, it doesn't matter very much, unless you go too low and screw up the suspension geometry. |

Suspension geometry doesn't seem to really factor in as much as travel and bump stop usage does. You run out of travel on most setups I've played with and researched, well before you get into wonky geometry effects. Car is decently well designed except for rear travel. Front roll center can get too low, but there's nothing wrong with it, it's just easy to improve, probably why a stiff bar works well too.

What's the deal with the autocross at NSS in May? On the roval? Or the parking lot outside? Will they use the runway and the transition into the parking lot like they did before they lost that site like 10 years ago? |

Sorry for the ignorant question, but NSS is where/who? Link to event?

Local event, nothing particularly special, unless they are autocrossing on the roval. It is just exciting to me because I probably ran there 5 to 10 times a year when I started autocross and ETR only had postage stamp lots. And then they lost the site. Here's an old vid of mine that I found yesterday showing the lot. The transition to and from the runway was pretty unique. |

That's a site that's worth driving on, I can see why you'd be excited to go back!

From what I remember talking to some of the TRSCCA guys recently, it sounded like they had a joint rental with a drift club to cut costs. The drift club is going to use the track and autocross will be in the infield. I could be misremembering though. I'm tempted to head up there myself.
