so you remeber on the other thread i posted about the piece of plastic i found stuck in the throttle body its from that plastic container thing on the intake i just found a hole on....

Glad you found the cause 🖒🖒🖒 That piece you are holding is resonator I believe. I also remember your other post saying about plastic piece stuck in TB. Im surprised that no one @ subaru dealer caught that. I think you can easily find used part to replace or simply upgrade it by replacing silicone inlet.

they told me they checked my intake system too... that dealer is bullshit man i swear and yea i just ordered a perrin inlet tube so that deletes alot of the resonators as for now i found a pvc tube end one of those rubber things and stuck it on it and now my car idles great and the fuel trims are where they should be on my oft

Yes, I do. And I told you that I was more concerned with where that plastic piece came from and how it got there than the piece itself. I'm glad you found it and it hasn't damaged anything.

Just found the same damn thing with the same problems. Urge everyone to check this seems the intake rotates and then this piece rubs again the front damper! Now I'm just worried about the plastic I guess I've been burning it up in the cylinders hope that doesn't cause any damage!

This is an old thread but I just found it. My car had exactly the same P0171 and the resonator is also worn by the pulley. How is this not a recall???? Now I need to find out if I can do without the resonator (if that is the right word for it).

Before I switched to an aftermarket intake tube, I removed the resonator and plugged the opening with a blank from Lowe's plumbing dept.
