If RCE yellows are your only mod, I have my front tires tucked *way* further in with camber plates at max negative camber in addition to being ~3/4" lower.

So if I'm going purely for a street setup and am not going for a slammed look, is there a happy medium to get tucked in without compromising ride quality? I don't care too much about tire wear.

[Sorry if I am getting off topic a little, but I will be trying the wheels on the 2022.]

Maximize front camber with camber bolts and Pedder's offset top mounts.

Where does that typically get you to?

On my '15 I had Ground Controls, with solid mounts front and rear, and 255/35/18 Star Spec IIs.

Fantastic on smooth roads, but with our crappy streets in Oklahoma it could downright punishing at times.

I'm just wondering, I know so little about tire stuff. If I went out and bought the R18 225/40 PS4s tires they have in my market now for the GRYaris, could I just fit them over my stock 18's and be perfectly fine?

Factory uses 215/40/18. 225/40/18 would be about 4mm taller side wall. That should work fine (speedometer would be a little off, higher center of gravity, effectively a slight longer final drive).

I have Pirelli Sottozero 3’s which are 225 / 40 / R18 and I’ve found a calculator online that notes that this against the stock wheels / tires have it only gaining .8 miles per hour at 65 MPH. So below that it’ll be less than a mile an hour different, and at higher speeds up to 100 MPH it can be up to 1.5-2 miles, depends on how crazy you’re going.

Understood. And that's good news. I'll withhold judgment until actually owning the car, but the cars we've owned for, eh, the last 25 years have had adequate grip -- even for enthusiastic street driving, and I don't see us going to the track -- on OEM sizes if sticky enough tires are selected.

Yeah, when I bought my 2015 I intended it to be my DD occasional HPDE/AutoX car. Got the suspension/wheels and tires/exhaust/tune done...............then life happened.

I've not seen anyone mention that the rear track is 10mm wider than the previous generation. This obviously tallies up with the surprisingly wheel poke early adopters are seeing.

I haven't seen this mentioned either. If my thinking is correct then a 45 offset wheel on the GR86 would effectively be the same distance out as a 40 offset the old car.

I believe people already measured the rear suspension on the 2022's and couldn't find any difference from 1st gens?

They just measured the arms IIRC. The change is probably in the hubs, cause it’s not in the wheels.

Subaru Parts catalogue confirms that it has the same RUCA as previous gen. And Mike measured the RLCA and confirmed its the same length (I'm assuming the new part number for the RLCA is due to a bushing change that was advertised early on) .

Catalog also shows that the rear knuckle and rear subframe are specific to the new gen, but the Wheel Bearing assembly is the same. I'm assuming that the track width difference is coming from either or both of those. What I would like to know is if any of the bolt locations changed, and if so how did it effect camber gain.
