Expected pricing and availability? Are they expected to fall between the T0 and T2 on pricing?

Little of an old bump, but I didn't feel as if this needed a new thread.
Looking into going linear for my B14's, sticking with 60MM Swift springs in 5k/6k or 6k/6k. Also using DIF tophats (1" extended) The length of spring is where I'm at a loss. I have seen a few 6" with tender/helper springs in the front. Also have seen 7". Is it advisable to run tender/helper springs regardless? Do the rears need the same length or should I use longer? EDIT: Looks like I missed a page on here. Questions answered. Last edited by Kenny_LongWrench; 05-05-2017 at 10:15 AM. |

Resurrecting a dead thread.
Curious what the best linear springs rates would work best to fit into the B14. I was thinking of doing Swift 60mm 8" 5k Front and 7k Rear Not looking to revalve yet

I was on OEM sway bars, but going to be adding a 22mm whiteline front sway on soft (115% stiffer than OEM) 16mm Perrin rear sway on hard (115% stiffer than OEM) both added today. Goals: Daily driving comfort (within reason) Occasional Track day & hillclimb several times a year. Be able to keep a similar ride height to what I have now, ~1"-1.5" drop all around. B14s allow height adjustment just need to ensure the springs match the shocks. I don't mind having the Shocks re-valved, but since it's a daily I don't want it too stiff either. I am mainly trying to help with high performance handling and some of the 'bumpiness' that comes with the progressive springs on the factory B14. Also helps that you get a ton more clearance with linear springs. (Running 18x10 wheels) The 60mm 8" Swift springs were the ones I was primarily looking at, just trying to decide the spring rates. Also trying to get a Cusco Tower Strut brace installed, but I have an Edelbrock SC and going to need some kind of custom tower strut tops/spacers to make it fit properly.

What kind of tires? That's more important than width. (sticky 225 has more grip than 265 all season for example).
I am not sure if the progressive standard springs on a B14 will clear 265s, so yes linear springs make sense. - Andrew |

A newer tire that is very similar to the PSS and PS4S. I think when I get a dedicated wheel/tire set up I'll go down to 200tw and then get stiffer springs and revalve the shocks. Hence my original plan of 5k front and 7k rear. Currently running 3mm spacers in the front and I don't rub, but it's too close for comfort with the wider progressive springs.

Does anyone have any pics of 6'' 5k springs in the front with helper springs? I'm most likely going to modify my b14s and want to see what the ride height is like with that setup. Also does anyone know of a good place in NJ or east coast that rebuilds/revalves bilsteins?

I was a few tenths out from trophying my first time at Lincoln last year at Spring Nats with B16 and the progressive rate springs, good compromise on street/fun, but at Lincoln I had the damping turned all the way up with no more to give. Decided to switch instead of revalve.
East coast I’m aware of Redshift Motorsports, they usually work with BC but they may be able to valve the Bilstein to what you want. When I contacted Bilstein they had shut down their in house revalve and service and pointed me to PSI in Sonoma CA. That might have changed though. I used an 8” 325# spring up front with no issue, no tender, no good pictures unfortunately, you shouldn’t have much issue getting the ride height you want with some fiddling. I also used a stiffer 7” at some point iirc but my front were always pretty close with minimal spring preload so I only ever used helpers in the back iirc. |
