Looks good. We had a round of this earlier with black tips if you didn't catch that. The thread is here.

Also, I have some comparison shots of the replacement tips vs. OEM in my Journal here.

Here's a photo of them installed. I went with oval. Some used the round ones.

You may be able to tell from the pics that the tips aren't quite centered evenly...I'll try to adjust it a bit but it just might be impossible to get them perfect. If you are somewhat OCD like me you might not be happy...but as a temp fix I think this is pretty good over stock.

I installed DC Sports tips which I THINK are model EX-1013. I say "I THINK" because I found that many of the DC Sports tips were mislabeled. Numerous cases in different stores of these tips with identical labels but clearly different parts. SO if you do go this route make sure to carefully examine the tips to make sure they match (and are the correct specs).

Here's a pic of the label (again though, this might not actually be the EX-1013 because I found multiple others with the identical EX-1013 label that look different):

This is what the inside looks like...the other EX-1013 I tried out (and returned because it didn't fit as well) had a larger diameter middle-opening:

Here is a pic showing one of the bolts...you can see this version has nuts affixed to the tip...the EX-1013 I returned that didn't fit as well and was less secure didn't have these nuts at all. So that's one thing to look for...you probably want the nut:

I found this brand of tips for sale at both Pep Boys and Advance Auto Parts. Let me know if you have questions.

[Also, I had no problem at all removing the bolts on the factory tips. I'd advise using a ratchet to make sure you are turning the right way, since maybe that's why people had issues! ]

This model DCsport Ex1013 look good very closed to the JDM. Is it 4" diameter on the outlet size? I believe the JDM also about 4" dia. ? I will contact Pep boys.

I placed an order for the DC sports EX 1012. But now I wish I had ordered the EX 1013. These look very close to the JDM tips diameter and fills the diffuser quite good.

I hope EX 1012 is not that small from it.

Anyone know where I can pick up a spare nut/bolt piece for the DC Sports EX1013? I picked up a set up one of the nut/bolt assemblies got loose and fell off on the road. I didn't loose the whole tip but I'm riding around with one DC Sports tip and one bare exhaust pipe. I'd like to put the other DCsports tip back on without having to buy a brand new one.

Where did you buy it? You might try exchanging it for a new one.

That's my one worry with these.... You can tighten them down a bunch but they still don't seem 100% secure.

Amazon.com unfortunately. I think it was user error more than anything for me, but not sure.

Any luck keeping them securely intact? Does it rattle when you drive over pot holes or rough terrain?

I haven't had any issues. I was just concerned about it when i bolted them on, but it hasn't been a problem.

Most of these tips look kind of low quality bolts/nuts design. I'm also concerned the way it is designed in 3 triangular bolts pattern at only 1 inlet end that tie to the stock pipe. Is it hard to get the wrench to tie it up in there? At the other big outlet, the ex1013 tip itself is very heavy to hang on for long ; On the JDM tip, it has the same stock bolt type design at the bottom and it look more solid I think.
