Bump-
I’ve been using straight e85 for about 8,000km. Have had no mechanical issues or anything that could cause concern. That said when filling up my tank today I noticed the metal within the fuel cap has began to turn a chalk white colour (where you stick the fuel nossel). It’s very subtle but definitely not as metallic grey as I remember it being. It’s also currently winter/ cold weather so not sure if that’s the cause as I typically will have to crank a 2nd time for a cold start. Is this any cause for concern or normal? I’ve seen those e85 compatible fuel injector cleaners but don’t know enough about what they do/ if they make much of a difference to be confident about mixing that in |

For long term use, some OEMs normally suggests to have a different fuel filter intervals change, from 60 to as low as 30k miles. If not done, filter will reduce efficiency and particles may migrate to the injectors, impacting the flow.
Tank and metallic parts corrosion may also happen, which reduces life of the filer/pump. Not sure about any other issues in modern vehicles, which normally have the lines prepared to accommodate at least 10% of ethanl. I would say to revise rubber components more often also, as those may tend to harden and crack wirh that. |

Have you noticed any similar colour changes the metal within the fuel cap? Starting off as a flat metallic grey and slowly turning white? (Very slightly though)
