I have a jdl cat less uel header and jdl catted and resonated front pipe. Just be careful with the Q300, the packing in mine broke down and it got ridiculously loud out of the drivers side tip. Too loud for an old man like me. So i took it off and I am riding stock until I get an axleback. I wonder if Invidia would warranty the Q300. I mean it’s loud, I love it on the weekends but a 120 mile round trip commute it sucked.

Can it be repacked? I'm sure you can buy muffler guts online

Q300 calms down UEL catless header nicely. just be careful with the tips, some rattle due to not being welded. if you drive normal its usually quite, and loud if you get on the gas.

I have TOMEI UEL headers with an X-Force 2.5’ catback. Rest stock and to me it’s perfect. Has an awesome rumble down low, but sounds like a race car when you’re up high in the RPMs (goes bbrrrrrrrrrr)
It’s sort of loud but only when you step on it. Cruising around it has no drone at all and is unsuspecting when you want it to be. To describe the volume output, windows down in a street where sound is being rebounded- it sounds loud when you step on it. But on an open highway it’s not that loud at all unless another car is driving along side you. I’ve never encountered any police problems with my exhaust setup despite living somewhere arguably stricter than what California sounds like, especially when it comes to modified cars and exhausts

With that said the x-force catback comes with a muffler valve so you can make it completely silent at the touch of a button (although I haven’t used it since I got the exhaust because it’s not as obnoxious as I was preparing for)

Me personally I’d like it to be a little louder just so it’s more noticeable in the low RPMs and Idle but definitely not necessary and wouldn’t be considering it if it wasn’t for the muffler valve

I put the FP back on, so it is fine right now. Still gets loud when on it but it’s not obnoxious.

I have Tomei UEL catless headers and a 3" Greddy Revolution RS Single exit. It's loud, annoying, and drones but I love it. Some exhaust companies sell silencers for their exhausts. I have one for my Greddy and it pretty much eliminates drone and makes it quieter in lower RPMs but sounds raspy as hell in higher RPMs. I'm currently working on putting a variable muffler (Varex) inline of my Greddy that way I press a button and its quiet and can have it full open as well. I'd recommend something like that as its hard to have a deep rumble without drone or loudness. This way you are in control.
