Looks like the article is based primarily on the same presentation with Scott Speed that was already documented by many YouTube channels a few months ago. I don't see anything new there, other than the fact that this information is now available in print, rather than online.

Understeer basically doesn't happen
Or perhaps Jonny was never in a passenger seat next to an F1-level driver who knows how to trail brake properly? :P

Not sure if it's been covered, but can anyone confirm if the sliding seats now have a ratcheting setup?
I hated how the seats in the 1G cars would just slam back into you (usually in the tenders right between the waist and the ribs) if you leaned in to load/unload stuff from the rear seat.
Nothing crazy, but a minor tweak that would make living with the car so much easier...

i read that it was either getting better sliding seats or getting a larger displacement engine since development costs to improve both was too much

I would gladly trade the power gains for the ability to see my brake pads. Torque is overrated anyway

Guess you need a German car. Just about every German car I've ever owned, you can see the brake pads!

Sorry, a bit late to the party. What's the deal with seeing brake pads? I can see brake pads in PP Brembos on my BRZ.

It’s a forum inside joke from a while ago. Basically someone went on a rant about not being able to see the brake pads with the wheel on and it’s been a running joke ever since.

I don't think it's 2900 lbs as stated in the article 🤔

They just copy-paste the media information given by Subaru. You can check the official weight details here.

Estimated for U.S. model: 6-speed manual: Premium 2,815 lbs. Limited 2,835
Automatic Premium 2,864 lbs. Automatic Limited 2,881 lbs.

A 6-speed manual Limited '20 model is 2,798 lbs. So, the Limited '22 model will be approximately 37 lbs. heavier. I would say that it is not bad, but it could be better.
