Probably doable but I'm not 100% sure how it works. And I dont expect it to be much cheaper to be worth the effort.

And I'm sure they realize they can't do a major price hike of any sort, a nominal one sure, but they can't jump a class especially with the new Z and now the Type R out in the 35k mark.

This car generally competes against the GTI in pricing, I expect it to stay that way. Yeah, they have this new tech and what not, but they also are stretching R&D costs since it's just an update platform. Also, screens cost less to produce than dials and knobs today.
USA is different and with 400Z on the horizon You are right, they cant go too crazy on the price. And its supposed to stay around the same pricing. Its the displacement tax that kills it now around here. BTW Golf GTI starts here at ~33k Euro with 0 options, Civic Type R is 34k Euro base. The 2.0 Supra is 46k Euro vs 70k for a 3.0 (its like 2.0 was priced at 35k in USA) so the difference is huge between those 2.
We shall see the official info (lets see the EU spec pwoer level with GPF filters in the exhaust) and pricing. But like I said, if it goes north of 35k I'm def out.

You have to pay the difference during the registration in your home country. You won't gain much if any at all.

So like the guys that think they can get a cheaper car here by bringing it up from the US. In the end it costs more than if you just bought it domestic.

Well.... Its not quite the same because of the huge amounts of money involved and at what point it is charged.

The tax on purchasing a 2.4 liter is up around 140% of the vehicles price in some eu countries.

Annual registration taxes are not so massive.

But my assumption is that there are some other mechanisms in law that prevent you from circumventing those massive taxes (which are country specific, not necessarily all of EU).

It just looks like Ablaze...just when its not super shiny and off the showroom floor.....

The new 911 GT3 has dropped its front MacPherson struts for double wishbones in its quest for handling perfection, and it seems to have worked. Pity the twins didn't do the same....

Theres a super-wide flat-4 engine in the way! Should go to V4, IMO...

Would be nice. But would raise the price as it's a more expensive system, it would raise the weight of the vehicle slightly, and as ZDan basically said - we don't have room for it (would also likely reduce trunk space).

It wasn't like anybody had a problem with the GT3/RS that came before. A 370Z has front double wishbone as well but people like the feel of the twins more.

There wasn't much to improve on the new car because critics only harped on the torque dip and the Prius summer tires. I think gen 2 will have near perfect reviews like a Cayman yet some will still want a turbo/supercharged motor.
