The original 86 was 1) inexpensive and 2) fun to drive! Those two characteristics DEFINE Scion as a brand.

Now, I know capability doesn't exactly define Scion... but this car could change that. Either way, no need to get up in arms yet.

It seems as if my post was glossed over, so let me say it again. It's not about the piece of plastic that is on the bumper, it's the thinking that went behind "let's make this a scion" a problem for me.

That being said, all of those people jumping for joy for a "$20k scion" will be the set that turn into a lynch mob when the rest of the buying public go "WTF, a $25k Scion?!?!?!".

That is all.

So we should hope that like I said, maybe the "thinking" that went into the Scion badge wasn't really any thinking at all and it comes out to be what people want despite the marketing department and whatever fail lol.

oy....
You are by far the smartest poster in this thread filled with people that don't know shit about what they're talking about. My car is a Acura RSX and its real name is Honda Integra. My engine says Honda, my windows says Honda and 95% of the car is from Japan and not made in America like a Toyota Camry vs the JDM version which looks totally different. But most of these guys are ignorant and sound like 12 year olds to me. People act like all Toyota cars are world class, soft touch plastics using cars. Wake the fuck up people SCION is TOYOTA!!!!

agreed... every part on a scion has Toyota stamped on it.. And most insurance companies call them Toyota Scion (xA, xB. xD. tC ) ... plus all the scions are Toyots everywhere else in the world... I wonder if people would have been this up set if the car game out at the Lexus FT-ES

Not what i wanted to see but what i expected...not it all comes down to what the production variant of Scytoyobaru (patent pending lol) looks like for me to. dont care for scion but like it was said b4 it can be de-badged...is basically the same car across the three brands. so all down to preference for me in a year or so. gonna be pissed if at very least if they dont give me the option to choose betwwen scion/toyota and subie thoough. If indeed a scion in the state at least give us that option to pick

^Actually past rumors about the possibility of a lexus version make me wanna wait to see how that turns out.

But maybe... just maybe this car could be the beginning of a new image for scion.
I do hope the scion version looks a little more like the first concept. Maybe the front of the first concept with the rear of the second.

Good bye toyota, hello subaru!

Honestly, what a disappointment. I absolutely hate scion and will never own one.
Toyota, you really failed.

Don't mind it being a Scion, still believe it fits Scion better than Toyota in the year 2011-2012.

I don't get why some people are under the impression that the Scion 86 will be physically inferior to a Toyota 86. The other very-similar situation is the Scion/Toyota IQ, and last time I checked the Scion IQ was barely any different from the Toyota version.

I thought in Germany and parts of Africa and Russia and South America they are LHD just like the Scion/IQ... but I could be 100 percent wrong..

I hear that Scion wants to change its image to Speed with Luxury ... But don't quote me on that one... Just what I heard from someone that talked to a lot of scion people..
