Oil pan gasket

Is the oil pan glued on like everything else on this motor, or is there an actual gasket on there? I plan to pull the pan this weekend to check the pickup screen for rtv and want to have the correct gasket onhand when reassembling...

It's just hearty sealant had to pry mine off with a pry bar gently.

Car companies are steering clear of using gaskets when they can. Much cheaper to just use sealant and the failure rate is less.

On the pan it's probably fine to use Yamabond but to be safe you may want to just buy TB1217H. It's about $19 on Amazon.

And while you are at it maybe buy this tool ($25):
https://www.amazon.com/Engine-Transm...gateway&sr=8-1

This tool has a sharp edge with a good surface to hit with a hammer and once hammered through the seal you can pull on the handle to pry the pan off. It gives more leverage than a screwdriver and a lot easier to hammer than a putty knife. Mainly due to clearance. If I recall the service manual recommends an SST that is almost identical.
